I was doing some scrapping and went to use my Mr. Hueys... went to shake the bottle and the ink started to leak! It's leaking from the part where the pump meets the screw part if that makes sense? I stopped and went to grab another colour... same thing! Both of these are new
should i contact studio calico? |

If they're new, and you've made sure it's not loose, you should contact them. Did you buy them here or from SC? If here, you should contact 2 peas first if it's a recent purchase. They also have excellent customer service  .

Is it ok to shake them? (I do sometimes, but it seems like I read you're supposed to swirl them around instead.) |

Had one or two that did that. Switched to a Tattered Angels and haven't had a problem. You are supposed to swirl not shake, didn't make a difference with the SC ones. |

Mine do that too. I can only use them for droplets unless I want a mess. I don't buy them anymore, cause I have 5 and it has happened to every single one. |

My red one doesn't spray anymore. I will probably buy one of those mini misters and put it in there. For now, I just splatter with that one. |

I don't know if this makes any difference, but I always unscrew and re-screw the lids when I first get them. Releases any built up pressure. They only leak on me when the the sprayer is clogged (TA does the same!). | |

I don't think you are supposed to shake them. If anything, you can do a gentle side to side motion, but any of the mists will do this if you shake them (in my experience with various brands, at least). Mine like to leak out of the actual dispenser hole, which drives me nuts because I try to keep them clean!

I didn't know you weren't supposed to shake them until I saw this on a GG episode.
