I asked on the photography board...but I wanted to ask here too...
Okay all of you talented photographers...I really need your help! I've been using an Epson Stylus Photo 1280 to print my photos at home for years. It's on it's last leg. I would love to order a new photo printer asap so I can be all set to print my december daily photos as I go (I know it's the only way I'll really do it, and truly keep up). Do you have any suggestions? I don't really care if it's wide format like my old one or not - I didn't really ever use the wide format feature. I just want to be able to print awesome pics at home.
Thanks so much for your help!

I purchased a Cano Pixma ix 6520 from Staples a few months ago and love it! I prints 4x6 up to 13x19 I think. I am loving it so far, and that says alot because I am super picky about my photographic prints.

Oh, I think that may be what I just got free when I bought my new Canon camera! I haven't taken it out of the box yet. Can't wait to try it. I can't stand how my other printer prints photos.
Just checked it is the Canon Pixma Pro 9000 Mark II, wonder if that is good too? I'll let you know. I'll try it this weekend.

I'm a Kodak fan...love the prints and the price of ink and paper
|Posted: 11/16/2012 3:03:18 PM|Thanks so much Amanda! I just searched for this one and the reviews are great! Plus, I think I found a great deal on Amazon ( here).
What type of paper do you like best so far?
Debbie, please let me know what you think after you try out your new printer!
Natalie, which Kodak printer do you use now? I'd love to find out more!

|Posted: 11/16/2012 5:27:13 PM|I've had the Canon Pixma 9500 Pro Mark II since March and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I've been using it to print Project Life photos, printable journaling cards, etc. and it's great. Doesn't eat ink like my Epson did.
If you get this one, make sure you use Canon or Epson paper - I've had bad results with HP. Also, the Canon USA website has great deals on photo paper if you buy in bulk. And Amazon's ink prices aren't too bad. I have not tried off-brand ink - too afraid to screw up the printer.

Forgot to mention, you might find some great deals on this printer as Canon was offering huge rebates if you bought it with a DSLR camera. So a lot of people are trying to sell the printer on Craigslist, etc and are willing to deal. That's how I got mine.
|Posted: 11/16/2012 5:32:21 PM|Thanks Anandirc! It sounds like a great printer...a bit out of my price range though. I'll have to do some searching and see if I can find any of the good deals like you did! It sounds like Canons might be a great option for me! I sure appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment!
