When you go to pinterest, it defaults to 'following' so it will pull up everything the person you followed pinned. To go to the main board, click on 'everything' in the small menu at the top of the page.
If you pin something, yep, you've put it on a board. When you click pin, a larger picture will come up, you click pin again, then create your board (eg if its a layout, make a board for scrapbooking, then pin all your scrapbooking picture into that board). You can create as many boards as you want. If you want to look at your pins, go to the right hand column, it will have your name, click on that, and a drop down menu will appear, you can select pins or board, and you can view all your pins.
If you click 'pins' only pins will come up. If you click boards, all your boards will come up. So you can edit if you need to also.
To get to the original source, click on the pin, the link will be at the right top.
