I still have some from when they were the thing five or so years ago. I have a bunch of themey, shaped ones. I also have some really cool ones that Doodlebug used to sell to match their paper lines. Another example of trends coming back into style...Glad I held onto those old supplies.

I was thinking about sewing some into a slot of a divided page protector for my december daily (or you could use washi to seal the slot). Or if I'm real motivated, I might try sewing some inside a shape - maybe a Christmas tree shape? - sewn into the page protector....

i love using sequins and like that they're coming back in vogue. i mean, i use them when they're not in vogue too, but i like the reminder to get them out when i see them popping up here and there. |

I have watched some youtubes recently and maybe a GG, not sure about her, and they are using sequins. It seems that maybe they are being put in monthly kits. So, I was at HL on Friday and thought I would pick up a bag of multi-colored small sequins. Now I don't know what I will do with them. At the moment I am scrapping just boy LOs, as I have a stack of pics to get through of my youngest DS.
Wasn't it Heidi Swapp that did some sequins on stars and arrows last year? those were cute for boy pages. I figure you can use then on stars, arrows and prolly even gears for boys. |

I was trying to decide whether to participate in the sequin share on the FSOT board, and did a search for "sequins" in the gallery. There are a ton of great examples there - including boy pages! (And yes, I ordered some!) |

Sequins have never gone away as far as I can tell. I have always seen them used in crafts and in fashion. |

It's all ready in clothing.

I've seen it IRL and it's actually more subtle than what it looks like in the picture.

Omg... so.. for those of us who do not like sequins, we can run over to the for sale or trade board, and sell all of ours?
Yes! ... (I think I doodlebugged my sequins out a couple years ago)

At the risk of sounding dumb, how do you sew a sequin on? Doesn't it only have one single hole? (Disclaimer: I have never sewn anything in my whole life ever! )

I think SC started putting them in kits about six(ish) moths ago. I just used some on a layout this week (flower shapes) and I didn't hate them, but also not sure if they're me. Could also be because the sequin box exploded when I was trying to open it, so now it's on a time out. |

I am sure there are many different ways but my go-to is to put a seed bead in the center. Just up through the paper and center hole, through the bead and back down the center hole in the sequin.
Works great for small flower centers or several for larger flowers.
Glue works too but I don't mind threading a needle |

How do you attach them if you aren't going to sew? I picked up this amazing package of square sequins (I'm a sucker for squares!) but I can't figure out how to attach them securely. I think even my smallest glue dots would be too big.
Thanks |

I think Gluertick Girl is the one that uses them in a very effective way. Most of her layouts are about her boys and the are some sequins in them and I like them.
