I recently (5 weeks ago) relocated to Minneapolis from Nashville. I only know a handful of people here (other photographers) and I am hoping to find a group to scrapbook and paper craft with. Anyone know of any groups or people looking for someone to scrap with? Any good scrapbook stores?

There are several peas meeting at Roseville Archivers on Dec. 1 to scrap for the day...I haven't met any of them in person before but I'm going! I'm at work now but have the thread about that crop bookmarked at home, I'll try to post it here tonight for you! And jamieMN, I'm in Maple Grove and my parents live in New Hope, so I know your neighborhood too!

As far as stores...I don't know of any independent LSSs left once Scrapbooks Too In Bloomington closes in a couple weeks (sniff, sniff, I loved that place!). But there are plenty of Archivers scattered around, which makes a good place to see stuff IRL and meet to crop. Don't know about them all, but my Maple Grove store is well stocked and very friendly. Corporate headquarters is in Golden Valley I believe.

Hi, I am over in Eagan, I am also going to the Pea "crop" on the 1st with others from here - here's the link to that post if anyone wants to join us.This is the first time we've gotten together so I don't think any of know each other yet.. We all were thinking the same thing and looking for new scrappers in the area as well.

As Lynette said, Scrapbooks Too is closing soon, and was the best still left around here. Archivers started here so we have a BUNCH of them and not a lot of others left. I like to go to Crafts Direct in St. Cloud, they have a ton, but I don't get there very often as it's almost 2 hrs from here.

I'm in Cottage Grove, just south of St.Paul and am going to the crop at Archivers also. I'm looking forward to scrapbooking and meeting everyone.

Oh yay! Several Peas in the area!

I'm in Lake Calhoun, so pretty central. I'll check out the thread about the Archiver's crop. I would love a chance to meet people in my new city!

But hey, I gotta ask--WTH is up with this weather? I was hoping to be buried in snow by Thanksgiving, and instead I have all my windows open! I moved out of the south to get away from the heat, lol!

I'm on the north side of the cities. Not going to the pea meet up because my DD has a concert in St. Peter that day. Hope to catch the next one though.

We are having unusually nice weather. I heard it is supposed to get really cold by Saturday.

ETA: Scrapbooks Too is the last LSS and it is closing as others have said. There used to be a really nice LSS in Forest Lake but it closed this past spring. There are a few in MN but they are not close to the cities.

I am just over the border into WI about 10 min from Stillwater, MN. I am 20 miles from the Woodbury Archiver's. I am from Cottage Grove though. I can't meet up to scrap right now with the Peas, but it would be fun.

As for the weather... I am liking it. It is nice. I am enjoying these warmer temps. These are so much better than the blizzards and the freezing rain and sub zero temps. Winter up here is too long for me. I would move south.. TN or Kentucky, if hubby was willing. There he would still have his 4 seasons that he loves.

Hey Barbie, re: the weather--just be grateful like most Minnesotans! My dd was working the WI deer hunt (for the WI DNR) last weekend, hunters were buying ice to chill their deer. In mid-November, that's not usually a problem! I promise you we'll have some crappy winter weather before spring, then you will understand!

Hey, maybe some weekend we should have a Pea field trip to St. Cloud and all go shop Crafts Direct!

I am about 1 hour North of the twin cities. I live in Cambridge right up north on 65. I'd love to have a crop at my house after the holidays.

Welcome to Minnesota! I am actually putting together a crop get together on January 11-13, February 9-10, and March 9-10. The crop will be located at a place called Scrappin N Chattin which is located in Dayton. It's not an over night crop since its so close and food is also not included as there are plenty if restaurants close by to get out and take a break; you can bring food there as they have a full kitchen to store and make your own. The cost is only $10.00 per day/ per person and there is plenty of space to spread out. I have 6 spots still open if you or anyone would like to attend. Send me an email at twinkiejo2004@msn.com if you would like more information or want to confirm a spot for yourself and friends.

Omg, we finally get a nice Thanksgiving, please don't wish it away!! We'll be buried in frigid cold even if without a lot of snow for five months, so enjoy the last bit of nice weather.

MN is the land and home of Archiver's. I love shopping there.

Northern suburbs here. I'll be going to Scrappin' and Chattin'. Have to check the calendar before I can commit though.

There is also a scrap store in Pine City (an hour or so North of the cities). They also have retreat space.

In Focus, I hope you enjoy your new home. DH and I lived just over the border in WI when we first got married. I was not a scrapper then though. We lived there for 4 years.

His kids and our grand kids live in White Bear Lake and Northfield so we try and visit a few times a year. Hopefully we can hook up when I am n town in the future.

As for the weather, as the locals have pointed out, enjoy the nice weather while you can! When I moved there it snowed in early October and was cold, cold, cold with snow on the ground until the following May!!! I longed for better weather.

Again, enjoy your new home and have a great holiday!

Scrapbooks Too in Bloomington is closing under it's current ownership, but I think new owners will be taking over Jan 1 2013 and keeping it open??

I will also be at the Archiver crop and am looking forward to meeting everyone. I already know rhiansmom. We met at a scrapbooking retreat 5 years ago. Here's a link to it: http://www.watersedgeretreats.com/ (Bummer! How do I actually get that to link?) It's a wonderful place & a great deal. We can go Thurs. through Tues. and the price per person is about $130.00.
I haven't heard about new owners taking over Scrapbooks Too but, I do know that she had been trying to sell it.
I am a self confessed Crafts Direct addict. DGS & family live in St. Cloud so; it is easy for me to swing by there when I take DGS home after a visit.

I'd say it's a "no" to new owners for Scrapbooks Too--they're selling everything, including fixtures like slat wall, tables and chairs. Which seems improbable if there are new owners coming. Emails have said over and over "closing forever" with no mention of new owners.
