So we needed my 8 foot table I scrap on for dinner. My dear sweet? Son in laws moved all 8 of my FULL white cubes I have running along my table to a different table, stacked them up willy nilly. For some reason unknown to me they decided to drag the table over a few feet and it collapsed dumping the cubes into a huge pile of my best and most used supples and paper.
They were amused. I am just sad. Too tired to sort it all tonight, I just want to cry. No big deal to them, they just do not get it.
Needed to vent to someone who would understand
PS they are usually great guys |

Awww!! Sorry that happened. I would have thrown a fit...but then I'm not always the calmest person, especially on big stressful days like family filled holidays. Hope it all gets sorted and nothing was ruined! |

That stinks. I'm sorry that happened to you. It might be better to hide your stuff in the future!

If I had that happen to me, I'd be very upset, too!
Hope you can get it all sorted out and that nothing is damaged. |

So sorry this happened to you....Something kind of similiar happened to me in the Spring, my wire cube shelfing collapsed the week we were prepping for graduation party. Almost everything I owned came crashing down around me. I cried but I didn't have any choice but to do some purging and put it all back together. Hopefully, not too much was ruined.

That sucks and yes, people who don't do crafts just don't get it. But they'd be all kinds of ticked off if you'd accidentally messed up something of theirs. I would have said "gee, I thought my stuff would be safe with adults. I guess not". |

Ugh ugh ugh! I had a set of shelves break and come off the wall over the summer and I walked into my craft room to find ALL my tiny pretty things (beads, brads, and other tiny embellishments) scattered around the floor with shards of broken glass intermixed. It was a real labor of love to pick up every tiny thing, pick out the glass, and re-sort them all back into their color-coded groups. If another PERSON had caused that? I'd have flipped.the.H.out!
Sigh. I'm sorry. The whole time I was picking and re-sorting, I kept telling myself that I was just getting more time to enjoy my tiny treasures.

I'm so sorry that happened to you! I've had my shelf collapse TWICE (once just this week), dumping paper and photos and embellishments willy-nilly . . . The first time I did cry. The second was a little more manageable.
The thing non-scrapping people don't understand is how much TIME (let alone money) we put into our supplies - selecting them, organizing them, even talking about them!
So to them, it may have been the equivalent of dumping a box of construction paper - still inconsiderate, but I bet they have NO CLUE just how devastating it really was to you.
Anyway, I'm just so sorry. I hope you're able to get it put to rights soon and that nothing is damaged.

He should never have touched your stuff without your permission. The cases falling was not funny, they'd have been picking up my stuff or going somewhere else for Thanksgiving. So, rude. Feel better.

Bad enough stuff got dumped over. But to add insult to injury they were amused. If the first thing didnt, the second part would've sent me over the edge. |

What???? Why would anyone think that was funny no matter what it contained? Those are your things and now you have to clean up the mess. They probably wouldn't have found it so funny had it been their stuff.
Did they at least offer to help clean it up? I'm so sorry this happened. I'd have been furious and probably would have ruined the day for everyone, but that's because I'm a bit of a spoiled brat! Lol |

Oh sorry to hear about that, I had my shelves fall off the wall and they are above my table, everything came down and I had a mess and broken stuff everywhere. I was in shock and didn't know where to start. I just put everything into a big pile evaluated the damage and purged a little and organized some. When I was thru everything was neat and organized and I could find stuff, and I found stuff I forgot about and stuff I couldn't find. So that was kind of good. I know your even more upset cause someone else did that to your stuff, and my mishap was kind of an act of God. Just try not to stress your self out, we peas totally understand the horror of your scrappy stash being damaged. It's thanksgiving just be thankful you have a stash and reorganize. I hope nothing major was damaged. Cheer up and have a wonderful day Good call on stepping out for a breather.

Oh wow, sorry to hear about that. People don't get it. They could have at least assisted in picking it all up, I would have been so pinged off!
When we moved from WI to IA a few years ago, one of the moving guys upended 2 whole boxes of tiny embellishment pieces (including brads, buttons, etc) all over the carpeted floor. Didn't get it either.
Yesterday, the cats knocked some really cute small leaf/stems bare chipboard, laser cut, I brought back from Australia (can't get it in the US) onto the floor. DH thought it was scrap and threw it all away!!! I was mortified! I'd never even used it, and can't remember the brand, so that's done for. Still upset over it, just knowing I probably won't be able to get more of it. It wasn't exactly cheap either. He didn't get it.. its not the first thing he got rid of on me either, some of them were big and expensive (like a brand new huge CM frame I got when DTing for them) |

Awww, Nana2Five, you can cry on my shoulder if you want. Goodness knows it's stressful enough having a houseful over for the holidays without having one's precious scrappy goodness messed up! If they have a lick of sense, they'd better be super nice to you today. Sending hugs. |

Old lady here. SO sorry for the trouble. However, I can't understand how you could just let it go. I would have lowered the boom on them quietly, but in no uncertain terms. IT wasn't just your "stuff" they disrespected, it was you.

Oh, noooo! I'm so sad to hear what happened to your supplies. Hugs! I hope you can save those items, at least most of them. You can always turn to the peas for sympathy and a shoulder to cry on. We get it!
So, your sons in law did find the situation amusing, did they. They wouldn't get any dinner from me, that's for sure.

My SIL would have been picking up and cleaning up until he did "get it". Usually I just lock the scrap room door to keep people out, though.
I'm sorry your SIL's are jerks. They aren't really "great guys" if your anguish amused them. |

Hugs! We do understand and I agree you should have at least told them that it was not amusing.
When we moved this year I was very explicit with the packers, who listened carefully then threw all my scrapping stuff into boxes willy nilly. Luckily little was damaged but I was FURIOUS. If it had been a family member I would have ruined Thanksgiving for sure!

OK, that's WAY worse than my sister-in-law knocking my beautiful apple pie off the top of the refrigerator! Crumb topping all over MIL's floor, plus a pie that now looked like scrambled eggs. We collectively agreed that MIL's floor was definitely clean enough to eat off (it always is) and served up pie with ice cream to hide the top. I hope you can get humpty dumpty put back together again soon! |
