No scrappy shopping for me today, but I got my truck detailed! It looks and smells brand new. Our weekend guests got theirs done, and so did my DH. I'm happy to have patronized a small business today, even if it was not a scrappy one.
How about you?

Yes, I purchased a cat carrier at the local pet store instead of Petco.

I shopped small for timothy hay and orchard grass. I have spent a chunk of change the past few days, so I stayed away from my LSS! |

I visited Stamp Antonio for their 20th anniversary celebration. I bought. Tomorrow I will shop locally in New Braunfels, TX at Scrapbook 'N More. The only full service LSS we have in this area that is even vaguely close to me. Love the store. It is worth the drive.

Yes, at my LSS and my amex card. $25 credit for small shop Saturday. I was going to use my other card at another LSS but I took DH to lunch instead. |

Sure did...we went to the local farmers' market where my daughter purchased a christmas gift for her sister; I purchased pecans from a local farmer and a stocking stuffer for my daughter; and dh purchased kettle corn from a local vet using his earnings to support his family while going to college. |

Sadly no. We were traveling home from spending Thanksgiving with my sister. I plan to get my Christmas wreath from a small business today. |

No, I ended up at Michael's and Joann's. Neither are local and our only opportunity to go was Saturday. The LSS that's local to the BBS for us was having a 20% off sale off the whole store. I thought of checking it out, but they usually mark up their product around 25-30% anyway, so 20% isn't even paying retail at that point. I had to take advantage of Michael's 60% embellishments for some flower stash and Joann's 40% Spellbinders and 25% off entire purchase instead. I can't shop LSS if they're not cost effective.
Oh! OH! BUT I have purchased many digital stamps from the small etsy shops that the artists own. At least four different places with four different artists. THAT is supporting a very small business! YAY! Okay, now I feel better about myself. |

I am so sad...it is VERY hard for mr to shop "local" or "small." We have very few independent, local businesses around here. I live in a very boring suburb and everything is a big box store. If I want to shop at cute, fun independent stores, I either have to drive into Austin or to one of the surrounding small towns. Which I will do--but not this weekend. |

I didn't buy much anywhere but yes, I guess I did! I bought a couple of things at the local hardware store and got something VERY small at one of the other local hardware stores. I also bought some bananas and limes from our locally owned NON-CHAIN health food store. |

Not yet, but my town has some sort of local artisan holiday market that starts this week and runs through Christmas, so I am looking forward to checking that out! I love supporting local businesses when I can.

Yay for those that did shop small on Saturday!
If you didn't, that is ok, you can still support the small businesses another time.
And I agree, if it is not cost effective, than it just is not cost effective. No need to feel bad about that. I have to watch my costs also, just like any business.
And if they provide a service that we both benefit from, more power to them!
