My favorite thing.......the coupons!!!! I don't have any LSS, so Hobby Lobby is my go to place for my scrapping stuff.

What can I post about?
|Posted: 11/27/2012 10:35:11 AM|They tend to have a nice variety. Mine carries Maya Road, 7Gypsies, some Authentique. They have a decent selection of stamps and inks, sprays, etc. The store always has tons of fun seasonal decor too, especially this time of year.

Yes, you should be. I have only been to the nearest HL to me once, because it's almost twice as far as a big LSS and the J's in the same shopping center, and farther than that from my local M's. But I also went to a few in CO and AZ before that one opened, and loved them. My friends who live much closer to another CA Hobby Lobby and not near any LSS love theirs much more than the decent J's and M's in the same city.
I would say the HL nearest me has about twice as much scrapping stuff as the M's or the J's, and if you like stacks, their stack collection is amazing. That LSS which is closer for me has more stuff, but it's the biggest LSS I know of.
HL also is great for interior decorating, which I would love if I were not married to a packrat, in my house it would just look like more clutter.

We only have a hl here, no lss and the local M's in nearly 40mins drive away. Our HL has more scrap stuff than the M's does, though not a lot of product in any one line iykwim. Usually only have one coupon to use - 40% off one item. But, there are usually quite a few sales, not always on scrap stuff but some art stuff that can be used in scrapping, adhesives etc.

I have a HL and M's only. I like that they both carry different items, so I can shop both and not look at the same stuff.
HL has great sales. Usually everything is marked off or clearance and what isn't you can use the weekly 40% off coupon. Mine has mostly home decor and seasonal decor with a small fabric section. There is a small scrapbook section, which usually has old collections that apparently didn't sell somewhere else when it was new. But, that doesn't bother me.
After each holiday, they usually put everything on clearance for 80% off. I like going after Christmas and stocking up for things I know I'll use for next year.

You will love it! I was born and raised in BGR. Went to John Bapst and still have all my family there. I used to work at Judy's Scrappin and Stampin in Orono too. We now live down south and have a HL. It is a great thing to have in Bangor. Not just scrapbooking stuff but home deco and other crafting stuff. Their fabric is awesome too. I guess I will have to come home for their grand opening ; )

We are getting one in my town also. They just put a coming soon sign up. I'm hoping for early next year. We only have a very small J's and a small craft store. Can't wait!!!

there is finally one within driving distance. it's a refreshing change to M's and J's because they have papers the other stores don't carry. the only thing i find annoying is that they have to look up the sales on the sales flyer. i guess it doesn't automatically ring up so you have to check your receipt very carefully. i once purchases all sale items but she didn't ring them up at the sales price so she had to call the manager, void the check, and rering everything. that was very annoying.

I can't believe HL still uses price tags!
We got ours late August. I feel like the paper aisles are missing stuff...like they are not stocked to the brim Kwim? I have been in HLs in the midwest and they seemed to have more. I do love their brand name paper stacks though...never knew so many companies besides DCWV had stacks.

We have a new hobby lobby here. It's okay. Cleaner than Joanns and michaels. Seems to have a decent selection.
My problem with it is that they treat their employees really bad. In front of customers.
The way the management speaks to their employees is unacceptable. In fact, it's happened each time I've been there.
I had 14yo DS there on black Friday. He was looking for sterling silver and crystal beads to make a bracelet for his GF. He heard management speaking so rudely to the workers he asked me if that's how all bosses treat their employees.
He was really worried that I had to put up with that type of poor treatment at my job.
I will be writing a letter to their corporate office about it.
I don't think it will do much, but at least I will try to make a difference for those poor people that work there.
ETA: they don't take competitor coupons either.

I used to work at HL. The reason they still use paper price tags is because of price. At least that's what they told me. If they go to scanning systems it would raise the price on everything to pay for the system. Also HL is the only store that will let you use coupons on magazines and books. Js and Ms won't.

|Posted: 11/28/2012 9:44:56 AM|I love Hobby lobby, it makes scrapbooking so much more affordable. I still purchase online, and at archivers, but most of my embellishments are made w/their basic cardstock. (which I think? Is bazzil?) it's textured and heavy just how I like.
|Posted: 11/28/2012 10:13:30 AM|I Hobby Lobby!! It is great for crafts, home decor and seasonal items. I am actually going in about 30 minutes.

I can't believe HL still uses price tags!
I'm glad they do. I wish more stores did because it's rather annoying trying to find the price on things sometimes.
Also HL is the only store that will let you use coupons on magazines and books. Js and Ms won't.
As far as I know, only Michaels has stopped taking coupons on those items. The coupon for J's does not exclude them. The only problem is, they put the mags on sale for 10% off nearly all the time now so it's hard to use one. I won't buy them without one though. I'm hoping next week will finally be a break from the sale because there's one or two I've been eyeing.
