I have found several videos on YouTube showing how to make the glitter ornaments using clear ornaments and glitter. To add the glitter inside of the ornaments, some used Glitter It adhesive and some used Mop and Shine floor cleaner (?). I've looked everywhere for Mop & Shine because I have a lot of ornaments to make and I'm trying to be cost effective. I found Mop & Glo at Walmart today. Do you think this is the same as the Mop & Shine? I'm thinking yes, but I want to be sure. Any ideas?

I used Pledge floor finish and it worked fine. They were in my attic for a year (Florida) and still look perfect.

It's an old discussion, but I'm sure the info is still pertinent: web page |

I'm sorry. Let me clarify. I'm planning to put the glitter on the inside of the ornaments.

I put in the Pledge swirled it around and emptied. Then I put the glitter in the ornament until it completely coated inside and emptied the extra glitter out.

If you get the Pledge - make sure you get the one that has "Future Shine" on the label. There are a couple different kinds - and some are floor cleaners - you want the floor wax type.
I think the Pledge with Future Shine is in a clear bottle. The kind that does not work is in a blue bottle (also Pledge)

Skip the floor cleaner. I did not have good results with the floor cleaner for glitter ornaments. (plus i had to go to 3 stores to find the right kind!)
I bought Beacon Glitter-it adhesive at Js and it was great. Only $3-ish with a coupon. I made 22 ornaments and have 1/2 bottle left of adhesive. It's cost effective on its own. |

I used mop and glo and so far they've held up fine (2 years). I hope they are still good this year!

Oh my! Now I have one more project to do. Thanks for the link. I'm excited to try using the Pledge. Little will my husband know that my floor cleaner is actually part of my craft supplies.

Liquid hairspray works as well as the floor polish. The ornaments we did 3 years ago with various adhesives still look great this year.

I made about 100 of these 2 years ago. I used the Pledge with Future Shine (clear bottle and found at WM) and Martha Stewart extra fine glitter. They worked wonderfully, are super easy (my 6 yo helped me) and still look great 2 years later. They have been stored in an attic in south mississippi. It is important to get the one with Future Shine. For all of the ornaments I only used about 1/2 of the bottle. |
