I don't think you need kids to have toys. I have tons. That elf creeps me out though.

I have kids and think Elf on a shelf is adorable, but my kids are a litle too old for it. (12 and 15) THEY would think I was losing it!!

I posted on another thread that I find him creepy but then someone else said they had a girl slutty elf and I think that would be funny. My kids are 16 and 12 and we have a little model robot that keeps popping up in funny places so the more I think about it I'm quite drawn to the idea. I just need to locate a cute not creepy elf!!

I say go for it. Plenty of adults have those Blythe dolls !!

SO....its fun. I am in my 40's and still watching cartoons, and love kids movies! I loved Rapunzel, her energy wore me out, but my hubby is like that. I cant wait to see Brave! oh and Life of Pi!

I am very seriuously thinking about getting one for the sole reason to prank my husband.

He thinks the elf is beyond freaky looking, so I thought about having "Sneaky Pete, the creeper elf" move in for the holidays to be peeking around corners at him, and showing up in places he'd least expect.

I'll have to make it a mission to go out and find one this week.

I just got an elf -- he's actually "in transit" right now from the warehouse -- and really, he's more for me than for our daughter. Does that count?

We love kids' books and movies, too. Although -- I don't think I'd consider "Life of Pi" a kids' movie, from what I know of the story.

Well, I wanted to buy one for my granddaughter who is 4 weeks I thought I could have it at grandmas house, until she's old enough, and then keep it at grandmas.
Not sure what to name it though. And ladies, you could take a pic for your DD!!!!

I like the idea of a minifig doing something fun all over the house each night, but in all honesty that "official" little elf scares the pants off me.

ETA (since I thought it was OT before, lol!)
DH and I have minifigs that I carry around. One is a Mickey painted to look like Jack Skellington, and one is a tiny vyinl character from our favourite video game we named Doug the Dovahkiin (means Dragonborn). They go on adventures. Try to eat big hamburgers, hang out in Disneyland in ride lines, chill at travel destinations, stuff like that. They have their own Smash book full of the pictures of their antics. It's fun.
