|Posted: 12/3/2012 10:41:07 PM|If you do PL and you put all their school papers, etc. in the one PL binder, do you leave them in there at the end of the year? Or do you split them up into separate books for each kid? Or do you keep stuff in the binder and put other school stuff into separate books for each kid?
Just curious as to what peas' plans are for possibly giving albums to kids when they are grown. Does the PL stay with mama and papa?
I don't have any kids, so this really is just for curiosity.

|Posted: 12/3/2012 10:50:58 PM|Well to me PL is a system of pocket pages and cards to make scrapbooking easier. I will be using PL to make my kids' school albums. Pieces like the big envelopes are perfect for school albums.
If by PL you mean a photo a day I've heard that it can be hard to fit 1 year in 1 album. So I doubt you could add a year's worth of school papers to that kind of scrapbook.
IF my kids want albums they will get their baby albums and school albums. Any family albums will stay. They can divide it up after I'm gone.

I keep separate School Days albums. Along with a 2-page summary layout of each year, there's a yearly envelope (like these from Becky's PL line ) where I keep their special art, awards, report cards, etc for the year.
If they want to take these albums when they leave home, I'm makin' a color copy of everything first, LOL! And I'm keeping the rest of the scrapbooks. If they want to see them, they can come visit their mama

That said, I don't know that my kids' albums will be going anywhere until they are truly settled in life. When I think of all of the things I lost track of in my 20s I kind of .

Thanks, ladies! I wish they had PL when I was little. My mom very sweetly kept all of our stuff in various boxes that I gathered from their house, but everything is jumbled together, and she never wrote things down in a journal style. I think that just wasn't a very common thing back then, but I think of how great it is that through the small act of writing things down once in awhile, all these kids will have these things to enjoy when they are grown.
|Posted: 12/4/2012 8:06:32 AM|I really need to organize my son's papers better! Right now I have his report card in my PL album but that is all. His artwork is in a big basket, which I need to pare down and label better.
My mom made me a collage frame of pictures when I moved out but that was it. I want to keep my kids' pictures when they are gone! Everything is digital so I will be happy to make copies of pictures, but otherwise they can visit me I think .
To answer your actual question though. I don't think I will ever use my PL album to keep the majority of their school papers.

I don't really think about handing out my albums and who gets what. I figure it's a reflection of our family and everything can go together. I plan on using them for bribery to get my kids to visit me when they're older. HA!

I have three kids. I make each of them a book. One daughter has green scrapbooks, the other daughter has pink scrapbooks, and my son has blue scrapbooks. I use the project life plastics and I separate all of their school papers, school pictures, and meaningful things into their own books.
When they get older, or as another Pea said, settled in life, I will give each of them their set of books.

My kids have ongoing school/sports albums. PL is the family album.

Thank you all for your answers!

My kids each have a school album for papers like that. PL is our family album of daily life.

When they start school, I imagine I'll start separate albums for each of them with art, paperwork and photos from events.

I'm a little insane. I have 5 pl albums. One for each kid and a family album. My kids pl albums are more like photo albums with art work, tickets ect included. I have school albums for them too though. If it is something of the kids I want a record of I take a photo and put it in our album too.
Have a look at my blog to see my method. Under project life tag.
