I recently graduated from a master's program in April and now have the time to get all of my albums caught up. Finished 2008, printed all my pictures for 2009, and am almost done with 2010, 2011, & 2012 digitally.
I was frantically looking for my youngest son's 7th birthday pictures last night and realized I didn't take any. I also failed to take Thanksgiving & Christmas pictures last year. That is so not me & I feel horrible!

Don't beat yourself up over this. There's nothing you can do about it now but forgive yourself. I had several similar fails with regard to pictures (and other family things) while I was in nursing school. It will be OK.
It sounds like you should actually win that award (and not sarcastically) for all the awesome memory keeping you DID do and for getting so caught up on organizing/displaying those photos.
Sometimes I think we are too busy capturing the memory and we forget to experience it, y'know? You were THERE and that is important too. Don't beat yourself up.
And congrats on your awesome achievement!!!
ETA: Unless you are a single mom and no other family attended these days, someone else could have thought to snap a picture too. Sometimes I wish us photographers had a little help! But also, maybe a grandparent or someone does have a photo or two you could get a copy of.
