So as I understand it, a pinwheel can be made easily from a square, just making four cuts towards the center. And yet, I find myself wanting that cute little punch. Is there a reason to buy the punch instead of cutting them out?

I was wondering the same thing! I have always just made mine from a square. Quick and easy and I can make them any size -free

It's a nice idea, but I personally wouldn't buy it- they are so easy to cut yourself and as doesitmatter says, you're restricted to one size with the punch.

I don't even see that this would save more than a couple of seconds over cutting a square then snipping the corners yourself.

Thanks. Saves me fifteen bucks. I did order the star because that is a punch I can see myself using a lot and I can't cut it out myself (at least not easily or well)
