Hey all,
I've been putting my computer savvy to good use.
If you do PL in 8.5x11, as I do, you'll know that the baseball card sections (9 on a single sheet) measure 3.5" by 2.625". That means you can fit two photos perfectly sized for your PL on one 4.6 sheet.
Photosheet doesn't have this size standard, but I created one. Here's what you do.
1. Open Photosheet.
2. Under "Layout," scroll to the bottom and click "<Edit Custom Layouts...>"
3. This should open a Windows Explorer folder with two files in it: CustomLayouts.XML and PhotilityLayouts.XML. Right click CustomLayouts.XML and choose "edit." This should open Notepad.
4. Scroll down to the first line of <layout name="BLAH BLAH BLAH...
5. Paste the following quoted material ABOVE the first line but BELOW the --> sign.
<layout name="PL (2 3.5 x 2.625 images)" size="6x4">
<rectangle left="5.00" top="6.25" right="48.75" bottom="93.75" />
<rectangle left="51.25" top="6.25" right="95.00" bottom="93.75" />
</layout>
6. Save your file.
7. Close and re-open Photosheet.
8. Look for the layout named PL (2 3.5 x 2.625 images).
Tada!
Happy printing! | |

Edited to correct a couple of typos (one in which I confused right and left - classic me!).

Wow! I just downloaded photosheet recently and haven't played with it much. That doesn't look like a combo I would have tried though. Thank you so much! I plan on using these as inserts for weeks with bigger events next year so this is super helpful!

Not sure why, but it did not work for me.
I copied & pasted it, saved and it's not in my layout selection list.
Will try again later.
ETA:
I tried it again, and apparently I pasted the code in far up..oops

Never used Photosheet either....where can I download it?
I googled and saw something called Photosheet on a site called CNET. Is this safe?
Thanks for the help!

CNET is a reputable site, but everything you download needs to be scanned.

By the way, if you want to fit two photos into one 3.5x2.625 slot, use this:
<layout name="Custom PL (4 images)" size="6x4">
<rectangle left="5.00" top="6.25" right="48.75" bottom="93.75" />
<rectangle left="5.00" top="6.25" right="48.75" bottom="46.875" />
<rectangle left="51.25" top="6.25" right="95.00" bottom="93.75" />
<rectangle left="51.25" top="6.25" right="95.00" bottom="46.875" />
</layout>
which will give you a total of four photos per sheet.

My last bit of XML ("code" wasn't actually right. This should work much better if you want two photos per 3.5x2.625 sheet.
<layout name="Custom PL (4 images)" size="6x4">
<rectangle left="5.00" top="6.25" right="48.75" bottom="48.75" />
<rectangle left="5.00" top="6.25" right="48.75" bottom="46.875" />
<rectangle left="51.25" top="6.25" right="95.00" bottom="93.75" />
<rectangle left="51.25" top="6.25" right="95.00" bottom="23.4375" />
</layout> | |
