Nothing to do to join our group, Forsara....just start posting. We've been a little quiet lately but I'm sure with the New Year we will pick up! I know I plan to recommit after the holidays.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! Or, in Tagalog (my husband's native language) Maligayang Pasko!

Right now the girls and I are just hanging out, listening to Xmas music; hubby is on call so he is making rounds at the hospital. We will open gifts when he gets home. Our great friends are arriving tomorrow from Maryland for their first ever visit to our new home...so excited! We enjoyed a beautiful Christmas Mass last night; then some caroling on the plaza in front of the church. After caroling, we went to a friend's house for Filipino food and holiday visiting...so fun!

I love Christmas!

forsara, welcome to the group! So happy to have you join us!

Glad you all had a great Christmas! It was a fairly quiet day yesterday. Dad did not know what day it was and when we told him it was Christmas that meant nothing to him. I spent much of the day working on a counted cross-stitch project, which I found very calming and soothing. That along with remembering my doctor saying that this will soon be over and that things will be good again and the encouraging words from friends were just what I needed yesterday. I have not cross-stitched for a LONG time. I think I will be trying to stitch a lot more next year in addition to scrapbooking!

Mom got a call back this morning from an assisted living facility with a locked unit where Dad will be safe. She is going to go tomorrow to look at it and barring any glaring reason why he should not be there, she will make arrangements. I hope! Seems to me that if they asked her to come look, they must have a place for him. I hope she can get him admitted and settled right away. We are getting very little sleep and are exhausted!

We are essentially snowed in so this afternoon I need to dig out the driveway so that Mom can get out tomorrow. That is going to be harder than usual as my back got hurt trying to wrestle Dad away from the door a couple days ago when he was trying to run away.

I need:

That is this week's list!

Just me in MI, thanks for the hugs and kind words. Yes, it is VERY hard, yet for the best. Lots of tears here, but I know that things will get better.

I'm with you. I have never liked to drink cold water, and even less in the winter. I'm not much of a water drinker, but know it is healthy. Even so, I struggle to make myself drink enough water.

So sorry you've been sick during the holidays. Hope you feel better soon!

I can't believe Xmas is over. My kids are still here and the frig is full of tasty left overs. I am ignoring the scale until January. I need to come to terms with my olw and what I want to do this year in place of pl.
I have found the best way to get the water in is to get a big water bottle And make yourself drink it by lunch.
Try adding lemon slices or berries it does make a difference

forsara-- Welcome to our group!

Betsy-- Hugs to you and your mom. Having a loved one with dementia is so hard. I went through it with my grandfather and aunt. Now my mother is starting down that path.

I've been thinking about my goals for 2013. My weightloss goal is to lose 10 pounds. I lost 10 in the past year, but I think I've gained back 3 or 4 in the last two weeks. So I need to get down to my pre-Christmas weight and then lose 10 more. I'm starting my diet tomorrow.

My plan for the week:
Clean out the frig of all fattening foods
Take an inventory of what's left, then go to the store to buy fruits and veggies.
Exercise every day either at home or the gym.
Drink lots of water.

Thanks, Staci and Cindy. Cindy, so sorry that your mom is now heading down this road.

Marilyn, glad your kids are still there. Enjoy spending time with them. I think your idea of getting most of the water in early in the day is a good one. Like anything else we would rather not do, seems like just getting it done and over with is best.

Hi Everyone! Hope y'all had a Merry Christmas! We had family from out of town and it was so nice having everyone here. Company left today and I have done nothing!

Forsara - Welcome to our group! Just post your goals for scrapping and getting healthy and join in on the conversations.

Betsy - so sorry you having to deal with these issues with your dad.

I did meet my goal of no coke until Christmas - 4 weeks with no cokes. I am allowing myself to have coke this week and eat some sweets and I'm not going to feel guilty about it!

I am also getting back into exercising everyday starting today. I walked at the high school track this morning while my ds used the workout room. It was 30 degrees this morning - my face was frozen when I got done. Tomorrow is toning exercises.

The only scrapping plans I have is to finish my dec daily. I am doing mine through the end of the month and I've kept up with it. I am enjoying it and thinking about doing PL in 2013.

Leisa - GO VOLS!

Completed 2010: 85
Completed 2011: cards - 16; los - 70
Completed 2012: cards - 26; los - 36
Completed 2013: cards - 13; los - 20
Completed 2014: cards - 0; los - 14
Mar goal: cards 0/4; los 14/4

Hi, everyone

ugh I swear this weekend did not go as plan. lol it usually don't but our furnace was acting up even through i just had the tank fill on Thursday afternoon. lucky it was just a filter need replacement. thank god it was a simple fix but took all day to get it take care of .. ugh so my to do list for scrapping and cleaning got mess up. Today I woke up with the biggest headache but feeling better now after i took headache medicine and just start cleaning and work through it. The kids and i went to family get together which was nice to see everyone. so right now i got one little boy sleeping, and waiting on two to be ready for bed soon, then I'm hoping to work on the baby album for gift that i really need to start. lol I also want to work on my goals for the new year and decide how i want to do my blog and the scrap organize challenge as well.

I have alot i need to catch up on... I need to make a list of what i need to work on and do it. lol

My plans for this week:

Share the rest of the luscious, expensive chocolate I got as a Xmas gift from one of my students.
Drink more water.
Exercise more.
Rest.
Plan some LOs.
Plan and execute my Kwanzaa menu.
Do some Kwanzaa activities.

I managed to get rid of the chocolate without eating it.

I am forcing myself to drink more water. It is so easy to do in spring and summer! I'll have to keep working on it.

Exercise more-fail. I have only exercised 2x this past week. I'm going to log off and do some cardio in a few.

I've been doing better at getting enough rest.

I have planned one layout and thought of titles and color schemes for two more. I just have to sketch them out.

Planned my Kwanzaa menu. It's not as elaborate as years past but that's okay.

Kwanzaa this year has been great. I feel like it has helped me reconnect to others.

I also picked my OLW.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

I've managed to lose a couple of pounds this week in spite of not exercising. I'm also having a hard time with drinking water. I don't like to drink cold water when it's cold outside. I'd rather have hot coffee or tea.
How's everyone else doing?
