I get so excited about the 2013 PL threads, yet I suck at doing it! My album is "caught up" thru Feb. 2012! Is it possible to really get caught up and complete the year in a very short amount of time ?? Would love serious, sincere advice -- even if it's "Hell to the No - give it up!" Ha! |

I think you have a good shot if u set aside a few hours to tackle it. Assuming u remember the details and dates of most of your photos.. I am doing good to know what month most photos were taken. |

I think it's possible if you:
A. can lower your standards a bit and simplify your pages
B. took pictures during the year
C. kept a calendar/journal/notes about what you did
I let PL go just after February, but I kept taking pictures and had a date book with notes every day about what was going on. I was able to put together a number of months in a weekend. The pages aren't as detailed as my original pages, but the pictures and some of the stories will be there for the future. I figure it's better than nothing...

I do have the photos and a pretty detailed calendar. I'd frankly love to knock it out before I forget all the little details! |

I think so. I did from March-October during ds's naptime over a couple of weeks.
I store my pics on the computer by date, so that was easy enough. I had kept a few notes, but not a lot, so I gathered up my planner, emails, facebook posts, and our blog to get some journaling info. And some weeks I pretty much just journaled based on the photos.
Also, I did more simple pages - just a bit of washi or a few stickers for embellishments, and mostly using the BH core kit journal cards and weekly title cards. I love the way the more embellished pages look on people's blogs, but the core kits are great for speed.
Good luck! I think it's defintely doable! |

I don't doubt you can do it (ask me about my plans for my December Daily!) but I can also advocate for a simpler approach. One year my PL when awry when life did...about the middle of February. I never picked it back up again, but it DOES make a very good look at our life for a 6-week period in that year. It's often a season I don't take many photos anyway, so those 6 weeks documented a lot of life. I completed the year with traditional LOs of the events and celebrations I usually document, and stored together in a WRMK album, makes a good annual album for me.
But like someone else said, if you've got photos, notes and a good calendar...sure you can do it! |

Since you have the pictures and the calendar/journal, I think you can do it. Are you sure you want to? I only ask because I was the same way last year - I started with the best intentions and after a couple false starts realized the format doesn't work for me. |

Yes!!!
Especially since you've been recording things. I would also break it into steps.
First get your pictures together. If I was catching up I would print my favorite 4x6 and keep it simple (I get my pictures printed every week and cropping and sizing is what takes most of my time).
Once I had my pictures I would group them...weekly or monthly depending on how my photos worked.
Then I would work one week or month at a time. Using just pictures and journaling cards.
I say all of this as a person who is behind about a month. But I have keep up with printing my photos and I have an small notebook I keep track of events and quotes. I am taking all day Saturday to get caught up and get my 2013 album ready.
Good Luck!!! | |

I gave up on my PL in March. So...I decided not to finish it. I'm just going to learn from what I tried last year and start again next week on 2013. I may eventually go back and do a page for each month that I skipped...but if I don't, I have at least 3 months of 2012 scrapped and I learned to make the pages simpler the next time if I want to keep up. |

You Can Do It!!!!!
This happened to me. I think I got behind in I think March.
I still took a photo a day....well most days, teehee.
I also have a blog, so that is how I kept up with the journaling.
It took me a week to complete this project.
I did work most of the day on it though.
I didn't have the kit, I did it on my own.
Here is when I was gung-ho on the project
Jan-Feb, project 365
Here is the completed pages
Completed Project 365
Good luck to you
I haven't started mine this year (2012) and am still thinking of doing it.

I have done it, you can do it. I started by sorting photos onto the table by date and event. Then I put the best ones into the pocket pages. Only took a couple of hours. The next part is the easy and fun part. Add title cards, filler cards and some journaling. Do the best you can, it might have been better had it not been done after the fact but it is what it is. My family only sees that the photos are in albums and that is all they really want! | |
