So, since returning here I have been introduced to Washi Tape, but I am confused. In looking to purchase I am finding that there are different companies that produce Washi Tape??? Is there a preferred brand? I see Darice, We R Memory Keepers, Anna Griffin (just to name a few I have found). Please educate me on the basics regarding what I should be looking for when purchasing Washi Tape. Thank you.

Some feel more plastic than others. But if you stay with the best scrapbooking brand you are going to have the best.
My favorites are from MME and October Afternoon.
I also love the First 2 from Smash book. I don't have freckled Fawn but It's the company with the biggest washi collection. I don't think you can go wrong withthem . |

I have a hard time with the Smash tapes. They seem to stick to themselves so they tear when I try to take them off the roll, or they leave sticky gunk on the layer underneath.
Freckled Fawn is my favorite but I like MME. I got some Christmas tapes by Martha Stewart and some from Target too but I mostly use that for cards because I am not sure it is acid free.

Try checking out etsy or the FSOT board here. You might be able to find some sample packs without spending too much money. Washi tape can be a bit pricey depending on the brand. |

My favorites are MME and
Freckled Fawn. Some of the store brands do not say they are acid free so be careful if that is an issue for you. Different companies have different types ,too. Some are very thin while others stick down better. I mostly use my washi tape on cards. i have also had the same problems with the smash tape as talked about by others. It is hard to peel off a nice piece. Start with a few that you love and go from there. |
