So, since returning here I have been introduced to Washi Tape, but I am confused. In looking to purchase I am finding that there are different companies that produce Washi Tape??? Is there a preferred brand? I see Darice, We R Memory Keepers, Anna Griffin (just to name a few I have found). Please educate me on the basics regarding what I should be looking for when purchasing Washi Tape. Thank you.

Just be careful if you are scrapping irreplaceable photos as many of the tapes on the market are not acid free. Various scrapbookers have said that even some of the tapes that are marked acid free are not (after testing them with an acid identification pen). I've decided not to let it bother me as all of my photos are digital and can be replaced, but just something to be aware of.

I seem to only respond to the washi tape threads but it's a product I'm passionate about. The top brands are the Japanese ones, they are MT, Classiky, Mark's and Colte. It's pretty rare to find a site that can offer these in the US because all of the brands are picky who they let sell their products. How do I know this? I tried to sell washi a while ago and tried to hook up with the MT distributor here in the US, they are the ones that told me all this...and they also wouldn't sell to me...that topic is for another day. Anyway...all of the other tape is made in China. It's also cute but they have no rules for quality or copyright. I own a lot of it but I am not surprised that sometimes I get what I pay for.
