I was cleaning my scraproom up (determined to start the new year clean and fresh so I can actually be productive) and my husband came in here and found my buckets of washi tape.

His response....
"Good Lord! And you want $20 worth of washi tape at Costco????? This is off the chain!!"

Uhhh yeah?

Maybe that's the downfall of having your product out in all of it's glory!

Hee hee

There's another thread within the last day or so with pictures and a list of Costco stores that carry them. It's around $20 for a carousel dispenser with 20 tapes.

Now you guys are making me wish there was a Costco nearby!

My hubby would just shake his head and move on smartly. He knows I'm more of a collector than user.

Okay maybe I need to clarify...the buckets are the small tin ones you buy in the Michael's $1.50 bins. I have three of them and they are about 5 inches tall. I just counted them up - 51 rolls and probably another 5-10 in bins with ongoing projects. That is quite a few!

But I will say....when my hubs was raising a stink over the tapes, he did take a couple for his camping smash book. I did cringe a bit when he picked a black and white chevron pattern one because it was more "manly." My saving grace is that I had an extra roll of it since it is one that I love.

Maybe it is a good thing that my scrapping area is a mess. That way my husband can't see what I have.

I only have 2 rolls of Washi, so it wouldn't really be a problem. If he ever found my Thickers drawer, well that would be another story.

all 81 rolls of my washi are on my desk on an organizer for all the world to see.

it's a good thing my husband doesn't pay nearly that much attention, other than to know that i have "too much stuff."

lol...

No Washi Tape here either, but I do a few sheets of the paper for quilted embellishments I make. I would keep them hidden and by all means make sure you get the tape back from him after he uses it.

I have learnt to just ignore my husbands digs at the amount of "stuff" that I have, yes I probably have more paper, glitter, ink, tape, buttons etc than I will ever use but that is just the way it is. I have never questioned why he needs a new part for his car so I figure I should be able to buy a couple of dollars in craft stuff every now and then.

Funny; I have about 10 rolls, most of which came with kits. I did buy one of the Amy Tangerine 3-roll sets.

But, washi was just used for the first time...on my ds' English project! He needed to make some flags for a castle, and didn't know what to use. We went through my scrapping stash and he picked out a black roll. I knew it would come in handy some day.

Since going to completely open storage when I got my Expedit earlier this year, mine just walks by the room, shakes his head and smiles. He knows there is tens of thousands of dollars in that room and prefers to be in a mini sense of denial.

It has been fun to read everybody's responses to this post! Actually my husband is really good about my scrapbooking and has given me my best scrappy Christmas presents over the years...Instax camera, Cameo, gift cards, tim holtz scissors... So I can't complain

He has his hobbies - ipads, kites, RC airplanes, etc, etc etc

Oh my gosh that is so funny! 150 rolls, you go girl! I have 5, a whole whopping 5. And actually, my Dad went to the scrapbook store and got me a 2 pack for Christmas, so thank you Dad for adding to my stash!

We buy Washi.

I only have maybe 6 or 7 rolls of washi. The only washi I have used is the Smash black with white dots (love that stuff). But my paper stash is another story (although not as much as some here!!). I have lots and lots of spending to do before I catch up with spending my husband does on his hobbies. So, needless to say, he says nothing!!!

I'm still building my washi stash...but am happy to say my DH never says anything about my stash except when I complain that it's all over the place. He'll say, "Well, you do have a lot of different interests/areas...it's hard to organize them!"

Best thing he ever did was help me turn the dining room into my art room/library. Complete with Expedit and full wall of bookshelves!
