I found this idea on Shimelle's website in 2010 and I told my niece about it. She has done it for the past two years and LOVED it! I was reminded of it again when I was poking around the internet.

(Thank you missbzb! I found it again through your blog!)

Basically, there are 4 pages per month...one page holding an envelope to hold the stuff of life like receipts, ticket stubs, etc., 1 divided page protector and a one page LO showing something that happened that month in a little more depth. Here is the link to Shimelle's blog where she explains everything:

Shimelle's Document 2010

I have really struggled with the idea of loving the ideas of Project Life and feeling guilty that I don't do it. I think for me this kind of project will be something I am capable of following through with and will capture what I like about PL without feeling overwhelmed.

Since I chose DO as my one little word, I'm feeling particularly inspired this year. I have set aside a weekly scrapping date via Skype with my sister and I think I will use one of those weeks every month to work on my Document 2013.

I remember seeing this referenced on Shimelles blog. Thanks for bringing it back up. I am trying to figure out what I want to do for this year.

natlhol- As you probably saw from my blog post, I have wanted to do PL for so long but just feel totally overwhelmed by it. I am really excited about trying Documented in 2013. Glad my posted reminded you of the project!

That's a cool idea!

Yes, mizzbzb, (sorry I misspelled your name the first time!) that's been my feeling with PL all along. I really didn't feel like I could keep it up and I didn't want to set myself up to fail. I think this project is so much more "doable" for me.

Thanks for the link to the posts on Shimelle's blog so I could find them again!

I like this idea, seems a bit more do-able. I've never done PL, don't think I could keep it up, but I am feeling a pull towards it. I may do something like this. Or just put in some summary/divided pages in with my regular layouts.

I do PL monthly/events so this would be very similar. I really think "we" have made PL more complicated than BH ever intended it to be. At its core, all you "need" to do PL is the core kit, protectors and a journaling pen. That's it. Many have taken it to create mini masterpiece layouts for each picture. I'm not saying anything is wrong with that per se, but the rest of us who want to keep it simple can get intimidated and feel like we can't keep up with all the stuff we see on blogs and Pinterest. Sorry, just needed to say that because I feel bad for all those who feel like they can't "do" PL.

I am doing this for 2012 and I love it so far. I am way behind on it though. I am going to do it again for 2013 and my New Year's resolution is to not fall behind on it this year. I'm so glad that someone else is doing it too. I don't think that I could ever do Project Life, it just seems so overwhelming, but Document 2013 is very doable.

I'm trying to figure out what to make my running theme for 2013. For 2012, I put a library pocket on the main envelope page that included a list of all of the books that I read in that month. I'm not sure if I'm going to keep doing that for 2013. I also used three different calendar die cuts that would have the month on them as part of the embellishments for the divided pages. I will continue to do that. It was a nice running bit through the album. I was also really inspired by the chalkboard paint that was used in the "In the Mood to Scrap" video from Tuesday. I think I may make that a running thing for 2013. But we'll see. It could be fun, if we started a group, so we could see what everybody is doing. I wonder if Shimelle still does it.

I really need to upload everything else I have done for the album, but this was my page for January of last year.

This sounds very good. Can anyone else who has done it share their experience with us?

Very interesting! I have to think about this... I plan on disassembling my PL (the couple months I actually did) and this may help with what to do with it!

Thanks for linking this - I hadn't seen it on Shimelle's blog, and it seems much more adaptable than PL! Plus, I can use my normal 12x12 scrappy stash and not need to buy lots of different sizes in page protectors etc. When I think of PL, I always have visions of not having the protector style I need - when I want it. LOL

I really like this idea. I know PL wouldn't work for me because I wouldn't be able to keep up with printing every week. but this would be so much easier.
I might try it with my 2011 album where I attempted a month in review with divided protectors already. All I would have to add is the envelope page and the 12x12 review page!
If it works I can speed through 2012 too. lol

I especially like that it uses 12x12 pages so I don't have to get new supplies.

I did Doc:11 as I never got going in 2010!! Loved doing it, and it was simple to do.

It started on a UK forum here

This is the original thread - people have shared their work which might help some of you

(Hmmm...they dont seem to be linked - hopefuly copy and paste will work!)

Scraps-n-needles...love the library card idea with the books you've read in the month idea! I am definitely "stealing" that one!

Steal away Natlhol, I am flattered. I'm debating on whether or not I should continue doing that this year.

I am going to try this idea but will adapt it a bit.
I won't give up 12x12 layouts but they usually take me a long time to complete.
PL has helped me keep my memory keeping current.
I will create two 12x12 layouts for each month and as many inserts as I need to tell our story each month.

I like PL because there are less design principles to worry about(this is something I struggle with) and I can keep up with it.

I have tried PL as P365, weekly and monthly. I am most comfortable with the monthly review.
I'm excited about adding the layouts to the album.

I like this idea. I did 12-on-12 for 2012 {well, I still have to do the layouts for November and December}, so maybe I will try this for 2013... thanks for the info, I've bookmarked it

I was going to bookmark this, but I can't figure out how to do it!
