I have been scanning family photos and found my girl scout uniform. What is the best way to preserve these? A photo? They are definitely not going in a lo but I was so stoked to find them. Now I am just not sure how to save them. |

What about a shadow box? I plan on making shadow boxes for my boys with their coming home from the hospital outfits |

Yes, a shadow box would be great! Then you can display it somewhere in your house. |

I know this sounds strange being 35, but I have to return my girl scout stuff to my mom . . . so I want some way to preserve for my scrapbook, but I have to return the physical object. I had to battle to borrow the picture to scan, so I think she would have a heart attack if I tried to keep stuff. She is very attached to mementos from our childhood because my brothers have both passed on, so it is a very touchy subject to borrow these items. I shutter at the reaction of me trying to keep one! |

That's one of the reasons I digiscrap. I love to add real family treasures to my layouts, and I've scanned and/ or photographed some of the following things to put on my layouts: my grandmother's wedding dress from 1909, my Scout handbooks, hats, and pins, my daughter's 1st Cabbage Patch Kid, a lace tablecloth my husband's grandmother crocheted, my grandfather's carpenter's ruler, books, etc etc. Now my children and grandchildren can see these items, and although not really glued on my layouts, they are part of the visual record.

I would take a photo, unless better yet, you have a photo of yourself wearing it. That's just way too big to scrap. Then I would have the dry cleaners clean, press and box up the uniform. |
