I wish!! We vacationed in NH 4 years ago and loved it! If I wasn't such a scaredy cat, we'd probably move there.

@kstpeter - we are just over the mountain from Bow Lake!! I go North to the mountains most of the summer to our camp. Where do you camp on the lake?

@ramiken - No kidding!! Did you go to WHS?

@jessica337 - Strafford is about an hour from Manchester. I am usually in Manch at least once a month. Have you checked out the Hobby Lobby?

@AndiSunshine and @Sheltieluvr - What is it about NH that you are in love with? Me...I am in love with Florida, especially this time of year. The older I get the less I like cold and snow.

Hi Gail,

Where I am (Litchfield) there's a bunch like: M's, Joanne's, Hobby Lobby, and AC Moore. I don't go there much ever since I found Two Peas.

@pieces-of-me

We love everything about it! Everyone we met was so nice and they all loved our accents since we are from Alabama Everything was so slow paced and enjoyable. Nobody acted like they were in a hurry and everything was beautiful! The amount of cemeteries was weird until you think about how long people had been there...the cemeteries were some of the most beautiful scenery we saw. We were there in late October and it was just wonderful! I think about going back all the time!

Polly - Well we went the beginning of October and everyone said it was the perfect time of year to visit. I loved all the beautiful colors, the cool weather, everyone there is so nice and pleasant to talk to. I have lived in Texas my entire life and I'm so tired of the heat. Summers are so unbearable here.

NH was so calm and peaceful. It's so different than what I'm used to but my DH and I loved it. I would love to visit every year if we could.

It's funny that you like Florida for the warm weather and if I ever moved anywhere it would be a colder climate.

I'm in southern NH, too, close to UNH. Sadly, most of the LSS have closed. Most recently scrappin soul sisters in Concord and Frugal Scrapper in Sommersworth. Wholly Scrap in North Hampton is still open and having a Friday night and all day Saturday crop next weekend. Anyone know of any other crops?

@aj2hall - When did Frugal Scrapper close?? Darn it! I still had a full punch card for 30% off purchase to use. I had a feeling last time I was in (5 or so months ago) that it might happen. There was never anyone there whenever I went and seemed to be the same old stuff each time.

I usually go to Absolutely Everything in Topsfield MA for my scrap supplies now. Wholly Scrap doesn't carry much that I am interested in anymore.

I'm just over the MA border in Andover. Ink About It is a nice scrapbooking shop in Westford, MA if you're up for a ride. I miss all the LSS that have closed in the past few years.

I went to Absolutely Everything for the first time in October and loved it. A few weeks later I went to Wholly Scrap for the first time and was not inspired. Should get back down to AE soon!

There's a two day crop in Northampton MA the 19th and 20th of January. No lodging but it's only 15 a day, including dinner at the store Paper! Paper! (I'm not in NH, but I live close by in Turners Falls.)

Jessica, it's a great store. (I don't own it--I just go there! Haha)
It's a really nice place to crop and lots of very nice people go. It'd be great to meet some Peas there.

Here's the Facebook page for the store:

I'm in NH, but the other side in the Keene area. That's about 1 1/2 hours from you I think. I am near the VT border and that is where I shop (the only things we have here are Ms, Js, WM & T). Only the Ms is any good for scrapping.

@polly - YES! I did go to and graduate from WHS! And I think Frugal Scrapper closed in September. I didn't go in there much. They never really had too much that I was looking for. Still sad to lose another LSS though.

@aj2hall - Sounds like you and I are pretty close to each other. I'm about 25 minutes from UNH.

I sometimes go to Stamped Designs in Dover. As the name suggests, they are geared more towards stampers but they have a pretty good selection of things. I don't usually have any trouble finding something to buy in there.

@ramiken - What year did you graduate? Maybe we know each other aside from 2peas!! I was in the class of 1989.

@AndiSunshine - I am always interested in other points of view! I was born and raised here in NH. Lived in NC for a year about 10 years ago. Talk about nothing happening fast!! NC was beautiful, would have stayed but I had young ones and no family there. I was going crazy one day at time. The only thing that saved my sanity was the beach. We lived about mile from the coast. I tend to think us New Englanders are a more uptight, busy, hurry up and wait kind of society. Funny that you think we are laid back October is definitely a great month to be in NH, nice weather and the foliage is always beautiful

@Sheltiluvr - Yes, we are nice folk up here!! I am growing tired of the cold and snow as you are of the hot summers I am sure . Just yesterday I had to rake, yes rake! the entire perimeter of the roof back 5 feet from the edge of about 16" of snow so the ice won't dam up causing water to leak into the ceilings. I'll take palm trees please!! Our retirement plan is to buy a condo in the south and winter there, coming back to NH for the summer and fall.

Not near NH but not too far - near Worcester MA. I go to Ink About it sometimes too - not too big but fun sometimes to see stuff in person. Great store in North Attleboro, MA called Right at Home.

I grew up in Derry, but live in Nottingham now... about 30 minutes from Manchester.

As for LSS, I'd have to agree with what most people said already. Frugal Scrapper closed, but they didn't have anything interesting in there the 2 or 3 times I went. Wholly Scrap never gets anything new. Stamped Designs is more of a stamp store, but I can always find stuff. Absolutely Everything is AWESOME and not too far away. There were a couple of others in Manchester that closed, but I can't think of their names. Was it Inkerbelle's and The Paper Tree?

Lisa, I started following your blog in Dec when you did the 6x6 series and couldn't get passed the fact that you look so familiar to me for some reason. Now, learning you lived in Nashua, I wonder....

Polly, we have a trailer site right on Bow Lake at Bow Haven Campground. We've been there two summers now and just love it.

Purple butterfly, was Scrapbook Island still, open when you were in Derry? Thy was a great store, so sorry when it closed last year.

Piecesofme and Scrapininvt,
Yes, scrapbook nook is still open. I went to their 4 day retreat at Lake Morey in November. You are right, the drugstore is taking over again!! We are lucky that there are two businesses operating there! Gina did get some newer stuff before the retreat, just not tons. She has a LOT of BoBunny and had new Simple Stories. My favorite part is always the wall of Bazzill
