Is there some trick to getting a clean image? I was using the SC star masks and every single time I lifted up the mask, the mist smeared.

Any tips or tricks to using the masks with mists?

Maybe let it dry just a bit before lifting it?

The trick is to not overspray it. It also helps if you can tape down your mask. Julie Fei-Fan Balzer has awesome tutorials on her blog. Here is a mist tutorial she made that you might find helpful.
