I have some Christmas money saved and a nice bonus from work. I am a careful spender and not in debt. Why must the guilt feelings start when I go to add it to my cart and checkout? I. am. buying. it!

I've been trying to decide if I want/need one, too. To be honest, I don't know that much about it, just that it produces great results!

Go for it! I really want a silhouette too but it's going to be a good while before I can get one. Maybe in 2014.

go for it, you'll save money in the long run on alphas and die cuts you make your self.
I have an original that I bought like 5 years ago and it was one of my best sb purchases I don't regret it at all ... now the photo printer that is collecting dust that's another matter.

Any lingering guilt will disappear when you start using it and realize all the things you can do with it.

Just suggesting, do what I did. I bought the SD and I am very happy with it. I do not need all the features of the Cameo. You can pick up an SD for nothing in comparison. I like the smaller size and other than cutting out 12x12 frames I can do pretty much everything else.

My choice is to not take it personally - people have opinions. Particularly people here.-Peabay 12/29/11

G for it! Once it comes and you use it you won't regret it. I love the fact I can use 12x12 . And you'll die when you use the print and cut!

Go to Kerri Bradford's site and see all her great stuff. She also has some great classes about using your cameo at Jessica Sprague's site. The price is very reasonable and you got a lot of her cut files in the class.

I agree about saving money being able to cut your own titles. I cut out each letter about 3 times and then stack them on top of each other to make faux chipboard. I really like the effect. I use a tiny bit of Tombow Mono Multi glue to do this and it works great. (Also, with the Silhouette, you can use any true type font that is on your computer to cut out letters. LOVE that!)

I also agree about Kerri Bradford's site and classes. I have gotten just a few of her kits and they are jam packed. I had a problem downloading one of them (I think it was me, not the product) and Kerri emailed me back right away. I also signed up for two of her classes and am working my way through them. Lots of freebies included.

The Silhouette store offers a free cut each Tuesday. Even if you don't think you'll use it, download it. You might use a component of it, or you might surprise yourself and use it in the future. It doesn't really take up any room, so why not?

Also, twopeas has cut files. You might want to check them out. I know that Kristina Werner designed some basic files for twopeas that are for cardmaking and can also be used for scrapping.

I think it's okay for everyone to treat herself every once in a while. I really think that if you use alphas and die cuts shapes already (including tags, banners, flags, etc.), you might really enjoy having the Silhouette. And the print and cut feature is something else!
