It would work out different for me as i am in NZ so not sure how much it costs you. That said for me it is about 50 cents a go and it is SO SO worth it. I do PL and a big problem for me last year was sending out for pictures, this year i am up to date because if i happen to take pictures through the day i know i want for PL i just send them to my printer.
Also over the years i have wasted so much money sending out for lots of pictures only to not use them, i am loving that i can just quickly print one off if i want to do a layout, also i can scrap pictures straight away
honestly it is probably my most fave tool i have ever bought

I think it costs me about 30 cents per print, but I don't pay for any gas or postage.
I only print those photos I'm about to scrap. If I want prints just to have them, I still get them printed somewhere else.
I love being able to print different size prints. For instance, there is a border option on the Selphy, so if I want my prints just a little smaller than 4x6, I'll print with a border and then trim off the border. I also print 2 smaller photos on a 4x6 quite often.
I REALLY like having a small printer. I used to have a regular photo printer, but I never used it. I use my Selphy all the time.
I use it more and enjoy it more than I thought I would.

I love mine. It prints nice pictures. You can only print glossy, but they aren't as glossy as Snapfish. They are very nice. I think I print less pictures doing it at home because I only print what I'm going to scrap. When I order online I order every picture I took and end up throwing away or storing the ones I don't use.

I love it for the ability to print 2-up and 4-up photos. Mine will do even up to 16 on a 4x6 canvas, though I've not used that option yet.
I use a lot of sketches, so the smaller photo sizes work great for me.

You get exactly 108 prints from a pack of ink/paper.
I like that it is wireless. I can print from my phone and or my laptop and have excellent prints immediately.
The drugstore may be cheaper but the Selphy quality is much better. I get exactly what I see on my screen.
Persnickety may have cheaper prices and more size options but I don't have to wait a week to get the prints.
