Tonic guillotine.

I realize its not what you asked about but I really, really love mine and I've had it for at least seven years. It still cuts straight and clean.

I have had a Tonic, Making Memories, American Crafts & Fiskars...always go back to my Fiskars!!! Not another trimmer that cuts like it IMHO!!! Yes, I have had a few issues with the Fiskars trimmer that has teh "guide wire", but it is by far the best when all is said and done!!!
HTH!!

CindeeQ, what was wrong with your cutter and how did you contact them? I just bought a new cutter about a year ago and the guide wire is completely frayed! I bought a new one today a Joann; but if there is something I can do to get this one fixed (for less than $20) I'd do it.

Fiskars They do anything with blades really well - trimmers, x-acto style, rotary trimmers, punches, kitchen scissors, pruning shears, those garden loppy things... They cut smoothly, stay sharp, and are solid but not heavy if that makes sense... I have the trimmer with the wire guide and it's great...

You do need to spend anything to get a new one, all you do is take a picture of your cutter, then go Here . Fill out the form and they will send you either a new trimmer, or the part that holds the blade. First time they had to send me a new trimmer but the second time because of te wire I just needed the part hat holds the blade. It's easy to change out as well. You don't have to send the other in either just throw it out. Super awesome customer service!

I have this one and will be replacing it with one just like it if it ever breaks. I too have had the MM one and an American Crafts one. But the little Fiskars wins hands down for ease of use and clean cuts.

I have fiskars, tonic and last night I bought the AC trimmer and I have to say that I LOVE the AC trimmer even more than my other two trimmers. I love that it perforates, cuts straight and even cuts a wavy line! Here is a picture of the one I got at Ross for $14.99.

Lifetime guarantee didn't apply to one of my border punches and European customer service

The only thing I have loved that has never let me down is my guillotine. All of the trimmers have expired for one reason or another.

I am a die hard Fiskars fan. I've had the best luck with my Fiskars trimmers and Anvil Trimmer. I love them.
All the others I've tried don't live up to my Fiskars
Plus... They have phenomenal customer service and guarantee their products.

My Fiskars has never failed me in 10 years. I have the Triple Track with the blade track on the far right. It retails for $24.99. I do not recommend the Fiskars that retails for $19.99 with the blade more in the center. Not a good design. I tried it and hated it.

I was thinking it may be different internationally. SO I went looking and sure enough, it is. I found this on the fiskars uk website.

I have been told your products have a lifetime guarantee, please let me know how I can replace my broken product?
Fiskars crafts products do not have a lifetime guarantee in Europe. Of course, the Fiskars guarantee on the tool is against defective workmanship and/or materials, but does not cover normal wear, sharpening, industrial use, or damage due to abuse, misuse, neglect or accidental damage. We replace defective products once we made tests to confirm there is a problem of quality.

We won't replace the products if they broke because of a misuse (punching on material exceeding the recommended thickness for example).

Interesting read on the history of Fiskars

my Fiskars. Even though I can't always cut straight, I love my old (bought it in 2000 I think) trimmer. I have another Fiskars waiting to replace this one when I finally give it up. There is a newer Fiskars that came out maybe a year ago that has a wire along the cutting line that I may get as a back-up. But my little cheap one is so portable and easy to use. And I did contact Fiskars once about a package of blades that were defective and they quickly sent me 2 pkgs to make up for the problem. Good product, good service. Now, if they'd just make a lime green one....Maria
