Hey Peas,
I have gone through TWO making memories paper trimmers within the last 6 six months. The plastic guide broke at the bottom end on both of them.
I can't find their phone number or anything online as to how to contact them. I hate to buy another one, lookin to replace the guide, or have heard they may replace the entire unit. Bought original from michaels, it appears they do not carry them anymore. naturally. The most recent bought on amazon. Any info for me peas?

I think I saw your post on Facebook or it was another person with the same issue. There was an email given to someone who had issues with their Slice. I would try that.

Yes. I would call and/or email CS. They are the ones who can fix/replace the issue.

I have the same issue...wrote an email a couple times ... no response. Good luck trying to get it fixed. I have not had any luck. The phone number listed does not work either. I just ordered one of the Cutpillar PRO. Loved my trimmer (MM) but not worth the frustration.

Don't bother. I hate to say this...buy a different brand of paper trimmer. The MM one is awful. I junked mine after they sent me the plastic parts twice.

Good luck trying to contact Making Memories. they were bought by Colorbok, and many items they make will probably not even be made anymore. Buy a different trimmer, Fiskers now has several of them that are nice.....the Procision is great.

They used to sell that plastic piece... but I have to agree with JDish... junk the trimmer and buy a new one. I went through two of them as well, trashed both of them and bought a Fiskars. I've had no issues with it!

Mine just broke as well... I hate to spend the $$ on another trimmer... who has the best one out there these days, and please don't say the one that is $100 and is green.

I can't speak from experience about the MM one, but I would recommend the Fiskars trimmer. I emailed them a couple weeks ago because mine started cutting everything crooked. They told me that it was because of wear and tear over time, but offered to send me a new one for free. I just got it in the mail today and it's nicer than the one I had before.

Find another trimmer. I have one too and it never worked as well as my fiskars. MM used to have the BEST customer service but it seems they have dropped off the face of the earth.

I would love their contact info too! My trimmer just rips the paper and cuts crooked. I have taken it apart and followed what everyone says about trying to fix it...and it didn't help!

I ditched mine when it broke because the "help" they gave me never would work. I finally bought a CutterPillar and have been EXTREMELY pleased.

The plastic guide on my MM trimmer broke as well. I won it as a door prize several years ago. So I guess I've got my $$ worth out of it. I contacted Weronthenet.com and apparently they no longer make that type. The new one is pink and a trimmer and scoreboard in one, is what I was told. I hate it because the rest of the trimmer is still good. Any suggestions on what type to replace it with?

Peas, depending on where the plastic guard broke, I may have a fix for you. Mine broke off at the thinnest and weakest point, near the little hole which fits over a protruding peg on the metal base. If this is your problem, I can email you a pic of how we fixed it.

IIRC I corresponded with Jynx (?) on this issue, however the pic I sent her on email did not go through. I am mentioning this here as I don't want to be seen as a flake! Good luck, I still love this trimmer & use it as my backup.

I went through two MM trimmers. MM replaced the first one for me at no charge but very shortly after I received the replacement the plastic guide broke. When I contacted MM again they wouldn't do anything for me so I tossed the trimmer in the trash and bought a Fiskars.

I also have the MM trimmer and knock on wood have had no problems. Just wanted to say if I had to replace that trimmer I would look in to the Cutterpillar Pro, mercytiara recently did a video on hers. The blade sharpens itself.
