That's my game plan, the non-uniform look. Has anyone done this before? Do you use the back side for the following week?

It is what I'm doing for my son's baby book using the PL baby kit. I'm going to start 2013's book the same way. I take too many vertical photos that I don't want to shrink to use design A all the time. I have no issue matching up one side with the other.

I'm jumping in with Christmas over the years. The long top/side pockets are GREAT for paper printed with special designs. The first one that caught my eye to do happens to be perfect for Christmas 2009! So...... if I don't use the back side for something planned, I'll fill in with more decorative paper that I love.
