Hi everyone,

My computer was sluggish and freezing on me last week, so finally got it back from the Geek Squad today. Seems to be working better now!

Not sure what my plans for the week are. I suppose just being flexible. We are still trying to finish up dealing with Dad's nursing home placement. We went to see him Friday and are planning to go again tomorrow if the weather holds.

I am hoping to find time this week to bake German Apple Bread, a new recipe from the last Gooseberry Patch Christmas book. I have the apples, but there have been so many things to do for Dad that I have not gotten around to baking the bread yet. Done Also want to try a new pasta recipe from one of the TOH Comfort Food Diet cookbooks this week. Done

I'd like to fit in time to scrap, but I don't know what all we will have to do this week. I will be glad when all the details of Dad's care are worked out. Mom and I are hanging in here and trying to put our lives back together. We still are not sure what our new normal will be. I guess we kind of need to "find ourselves" again as we have given so much of ourselves to caring for Dad that we have not had much time to just be ourselves. There are still lots of tears as we do miss him, but that seems to be the worst for the first few days after visiting him. We will adjust. Mom is doing much better than I thought she would, which is a relief.

What about the rest of you? What are your plans for this week?

Hello, everyone

ok I am wondering what happen to my post this morning because i know i post it. lol oh, well it is lost in the lala land..

Betsy--sending hugs and it's ok that you ate the pizza after midnight bc honestly i have done that.. Right now I sure could use peanut butter ice cream after yesterday..

Friday--i had my follow up apt-and according their scale I lost five lbs. --I have maintain my weight since new year.. which is total of 18 lbs.. today i was curious if i lost more because one of my pant is size 24 and it felt really lose--according to my scale i have lost four more lbs..
so progress is good.. let just hope it doesn't get ruin.. with stress i'm dealing with now. my bf quits his job yesterday due to line leader making fun of him he doesn't have teeth wasn't by choice-he was having open heart surgery to replace the valve in his heart as he was one week before--his teeth all sudden became infected and was force to get it all remove bc he was taking medicine but it wasn't doing it.. there was too much i guess this was before we got together... i guess this guy thought it was funny and kept harassing him about it I didn't realize this was happening until he came home like lost puppy... I was upset at him for quitting but until he told me what happen. I do understand I wouldn't want to work for company who wasn't take care of situation after being told about this guy.. so adjustment have to be made until he find another job... ugh

soo.. however, I am taking full advantage of him being home--working on organizing my room I made some changes but i'm not sure i'm liking it.. but i'm going to do it until we get our dd's bedroom fix this spring..then I'm can move into the other room which i think would be better once we fix that room as well.. just taking time and money to do it but i know we will get it done..

I finish the valentine decor for my friend--I posted on my blog..

Now I want to focus on organize the room to get ready for LOAD next month..
need to go and make supper I'll be back..

Hi, Betsy! My goal this week is to continue to do my cardio everyday, even if I don't do the whole DVD. I have thrown in an additional 8 minutes of dance routines and want to add another 4. (about 3 songs total) I still need to drink more water and resist temptation. I think I'm going to have to stop cold turkey. I have been letting my mood dictate how I eat (super no no!) I vow to do much better.

This week's plans:

-Scrap two layouts and make a card.

Go to Home Depot for light bulbs and new blinds for my son's room.

I need to relax! I have been cleaning, vacuuming, doing laundry, going to the grocery store, post office, picking up developed pics, writing lesson plans, etc. I am looking forward to the weekend.

Betsy - hugs to you and your mom... normal will come.

Michele - that is horrible that your BF was made fun of... that is SO not nice. A horrible work condition is something that should not be tolerated.

Staci - I love your goals for the week. I need to move more too, thanks for the inspiration.

As for me...
I had my weigh in on Monday, down another 2 pounds, for a total of 19.6... I can't wait to officially say 20! I am so excited to be able to say 20!

Back on Dec 1st I had a cold... and the associated cough is now almost gone... 6-7 weeks later. I am SO tired of coughing, but even worse is not being able to exercise the way I want to... not that I like exercising, but I know it helps... it helps me sleep better. but if ya can't breathe efficiently, it is kinda hard to exercise efficiently too.

So, I think tonight I will vow to do an hour on the treadmill.

You guys are all doing so good...keep it up!

Went to the dentist yesterday; I have to go back tomorrow to fill two cavities! They are also (again) suggesting I get a night guard due to teeth grinding. The thing is, it is SO EXPENSIVE ($500) and insurance covers NOTHING...and, I have a feeling I won't wear it, as I sleep so lightly and poorly I'm sure I will pull it out of my mouth.

I have the propane people coming today to check my system for leaks, as we used nearly a whole tank of propane in the last month. After reviewing things with my builder, I don't think the propane people will find a problem; I think I've simply been overusing due to lack of understanding of how my thermostat works. Adjustments have been made so usage will definitely go down...and lets HOPE they don't find a leak.

Hoping to get some scrapping done while waiting for the propane people. Also have to work on the Financial Aid form for my daughter.

HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT DAY. Greetings and prayers for your parents, Betsy...and for your BF Michele to quickly find a new job. Why, oh why, do people have to be so mean?!?

Guzismom: My DD is a dental hygienist and told me to buy my tooth guard at a drug store(Walgreen's, etc) much cheaper but your dentist won't tell you that.It is made for teeth grinding not for sports players. Not that I have used mine yet, lol. I sleep like crap and I figure that won't help.

Thanks, JustmeinMI. I have considered going that route but the dentist really discouraged it. I might try it anyway. Lucky for me I have no complications from my teeth grinding, although the dentist DID say I may sleep better if I don't grind.

Hey ladies! The weather here has been dreadfully rainy.. not exactly walking weather so I have been trying to make a few extra trips up and down the stairs at home and I have started to do sit ups. (ugh its pitiful)

tonight I weight in at weight watchers and yes I am alittle scared, its the first time since before the holidays and the first time since I made lifetime.

I am taking Shimelles Pretty Paper Party class and so far I have knocked out a layout a night. Keeping my mind off of snacking is my goal.

Holy cow! My mouth guard was made from a mold by my dentist. It only cost me about $100.

Thanks, everyone. Normal will come in time. We are starting to talk about some of the things we would like to do when things are better. Things that will be fun to look forward to.

Marilyn, $500 is about what my TMJ specialist charges for a night guard. I thought it would drive me crazy wearing a night guard, but really it is surprising how fast you get used to it. I actually missed it terribly when I got my braces and was looking forward to my new one after the braces were off. Orthodontist prefers I wear a damon splint rather than get a night guard. I do not like that at all. I wish I could have another night guard. I get claustrophobic with the damon splint, but not at all with a night guard.

Staci, what is a mouth card? How does it differ from a night guard?

Michele, sure hope your BF can find another job soon. So sorry he was being treated so rudely. Sadly, some people just don't seem to understand that words are not for hurting. I don't blame him for not wanting to stay at that job.

Keep up the good work! You are all doing great! I need to get myself back in line. The last few days I have been eating buttery popcorn with nutritional yeast. Yummy, but it is not so good for my goals.

My dentist does not make them himself; he sends the mold out to a third party. Maybe that is why it is so expensive. Anyway, my last dentist in MD recommended one too and the cost was about the same. I don't think I'll be getting one.

Fillings are done; the worst part is always the numbing medicine. Treated myself with a quick trip to HL for some frames for my underwater photos and some 12x12 poly-envelopes for making my own scrapping kits.

I need to work on my daughter's FAFSA form.

Marilyn I am laughing at you---FAFSA!!! I totally remember filling those darn things out... Hated it!! So glad my kids are done with college!!! January is tough enough without extra govt forms.

I just found out that some health insurance will actually reimburse for WW. So I am off to check out ours would love to see some $ back.

Weigh in last night wasn't too painful. I am up 1.4 pounds but that is still in the limits so I did not loose the lifetime status! lol
I knew I was up-- way too much wine and cookies over the holiday!

Gonna start working on our "retirement goals" tonight.... such a joke we will be working til we are 90 at this rate--

Filling out FAFSA seems like a joke, as I'm sure my kid will get NO "free" financial aid from the government! However, the schools require it to be considered for scholarships; hence, we gotta fill it out. Of course, the school she really wants to go to (Columbia) doesn't really give merit based aid, so it's frustrating! I wish we had been one of those families who stressed from early on "you will be going to a State school if we have to pay the bills"; but we weren't and so she has big dreams. Oh well, it doesn't hurt to dream....

Taking the kids skiing tomorrow. Hope it's not TOO cold.

hello, everyone

wow, this week is just flying by.. I'm still behind on some of my projects.. I'm hoping to catch up this coming week but we shall see...I had a little party for my little guy's first birthday. it was so nice but i did overindulge a bit.. lol so I need to get back on track and focusing on my eating and increasing water. I find some favor water recipes to try out..

Staci--so know what you means about temptation--I try out a new recipe--homemade creamy caramel dip--find it on back of caramel bag. Oh, my god it is to die for.. I couldn't stop eating this stuff...it's just the whole bag of caramel and 2/3 cup of half n half and melt it all together in saucepan and serve it with fruits or just lick it off the spoon. lol

dogcarbon-hope you're feeling better--i have few of my friends are so sick from flu or cold.

Marilyn-ugh so not fun filling out paperworks--i remember those--hate it all those personal questions..

Vicki--Shimelle Pretty Paper class--i'm hoping to take some of her classes next month or following months once bf find a job. he really put change up my scrappy plans. lol

Leisa--same thing happen to my post--it got lost in lala land. ugh i hate when that happens.

well, i'm going to try to get back on track this week in starting the exercise--ugh I really should just sign up for gym.. so much easier lol, continue working on water, and make meal plans for week.

I'm also going to make project list of things i want to work on this year.. I really want to finish the kids' baby albums this year. I don't have much to do in dd's album but i just haven't been to working on those layouts. I keep doing the current photos. I'm also thinking of changing the way i store the pictures instead of photo box, I'm thinking of putting them in divided page protector so i can just flip through easier. I think i may do this.. i just need to get black albums to do this. so i can do this at micheals when they have them on sale as well as Joann.
