Yesterday I had an awesome mail day - receiving a bunch of scrappy supplies to start project life (yes, I will be playing catch up this weekend!). I was showing them to my 15yo dd and telling her about it, showing her the calendar journal I have been making notes in, etc. she stopped me, and excitedly said, "Momma, this is great - the last pages you made were pretty, but they didn't have much journaling/story on them. I would rather see less fluff and more story!"

Wow - I really had no idea that she had noticed, or that she would be excited about this. It was just the encouragement I needed!

OH! I needed to hear that. Give your DD a big hug and tell her she just helped a total stranger.

I think 'non-scrappy' people get this hobby a lot more when they realise it is about preserving memories. Whilst we love to see a balanced page and look at all the cute embellishments etc, non-scrappers look at the pictures and the story.

Your daughter sounds like one smart little lady

It is wonderful to get feedback on our craft creations. It's lovely that your daughter was showing an interest in what you have made.

Have a great week and happy scrapping

Your daughter is very smart I think sometimes we are so busy trying to keep up with the latest trends and gizmos that we forget it is really about the photos and journaling
