To me THIS is the heart of PL (as it has evolved). Using the products to simplify scrapbooking, not taking a picture a day.
Anyone doing this already or thinking about it?

|Posted: 1/16/2013 6:12:45 PM|Yes! I do this. I have albums (WRMK binders) titled Places, People We Love, Our Family, and Celebrations. Within those, I use the BH dividers to further categorize (Celebrations, for example, has birthdays, Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.).
They're a mix of both 12x12 layouts and divided page protectors. I keep it extremely simple - washi tape and patterned paper/journaling cards, and that's about it.
It has definitely sped up my scrapping process for family photos!
I'm still trying out PL proper this year - more a week in review - just because I think it will be a fun glimpse into daily life around here.

Yep, I do a version of this....but I also put traditional LOs in my PL album and put PL style layouts (or I guess it's really just using divided page protectors to scrap family pictures or events like birthdays, kids' field trips, etc. and put them in my albums alongside traditional LOs.

I absolutely adore and love this idea (and most everything that Simple Scrapper has to share). I also get too bogged down or stressed when things become chronological so many I can try to incorporate the PL + Library of Memories concept into my older scrapbooking...will try!!!!

I do this as well, except I don't use PL products. As someone who scraps 8.5x11", PL products just don't work for me.
Instead I use baseball card pocket sheets for most of my pocket pages. I also get A4 page protectors that have 4 vertical 4x6 pockets. I need to cut an inch or so off the top, but it means I get two rectangular and two square-ish pockets to work from (per side). Great for documenting those smaller stories. I also often create custom sized protectors from A4 or 8.5x11 protectors to add in special items like programs that are too big for pockets and too small for a full page protector.
I've used these a lot all my various LOM albums. Great for extra travel or child photos you love but have no reason to use on a LO, little tidbits, and smaller stories. I generally keep them within the 'time period' of the album (my layouts often get put in semi-chronological order to help with the continuing story line).
Most of my LOM albums are layout based, however, the divided page protectors fill in some some of those extra details of life.

I've actually taken the idea and am bringing it into my more traditional albums. So, every once in a while in my regular scrapbooks, I'm adding a divided page protector here and there that bring that touch of project life into my albums.

That's really interesting. I am an LOM'er and also do PL but never really thought about using the concept to scrap my childhood, or my parents photos together, or maybe my family history, or whatever else is just sitting out there. It would be a great way to get those photos in an album and actually have something documented about them. TFS!

|Posted: 1/22/2013 11:26:04 PM|I started doing exactly this last week. I decided that instead of having the 3 up pioneer I was going to use PL cards because there is no way I can do the PL weekly. Right now, i'm just using the tittle cards in horizontal and vertical six in one page pocket pages. In some I'm getting inspired so I might use 1 A style PL pocket to journal. It has taken me a week already and I have nede it to the 90's .
I bought the photo freedom book around christmas time and also Different events in my life are really moving me into writing down the stories. Yes, i want to play with the pretty paper but the stories are really moving me.

This sounds like the perfect combination. My one dislike of PL is the idea that you have to take a photo a day which is why I decided not to do that. Love this idea

this looks like a very do-able for me. I like how she puts the rationale behind her idea.
