adhesive for kaisercraft beyond the pages mdf?

Doing my first kaisercraft chest and i'll be using modge podge to adhere the paper but what do you recommend to glue all the pieces together?

I would use a wood glue or PVA glue. I like the helmar glue in the purple bottle.
