Has anyone else noticed that the Simple Stories page protectors are a bit large? In other words, a 4x6 photo is 1/4" too small on all sides and seems to "float" in the pocket, same with the 3x4 photo boxes. Please don't tell me the intent is to mount every photo when the system is marketed as fast and easy solution for scrapbooking.

Anyone else experience this?

I have some of the SN@P! binders and my photos indeed kind of float.

It is annoying and I won't buy more of them or other Simple Stories products unless that stops being true.

Of course, the Becky Higgins protectors make you trim your 3*4 things to fit, but I'd rather trim than blow up or mount.

Thanks Epeanymous, I thought maybe I got a bad batch or was losing my mind! I have another binder that I haven't used yet, but I have to say I'm not that excited about it now that I've struggled with this one...

I'm thinking of letting them know my frustration - I wonder if anyone else has noticed it and finds it frustrating?

I find them "floaty" as well. Even the long border strips float in what should be the designated slot...the 2x12 pocket, they don't reach all the way to the bottom...sort of tweaks me a bit. I asked someone about this and was told that they were made that way to allow for the "bulk" of items added or used for embellishing! hummm....still don't like it.

Yep. And the 6x8 pockets are huge.

I used a Snap album for my DD and I had to mount my photos on pp because of the floating issue. I thought I was doing something wrong at first and kept measuring the pockets trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. Totally annoying!

Yep. I had the same issue for my JYC2012 as well. I hope the new 12x12 will be true size as well. I like new layouts but refuse to buy and mount everything. At least with BH my 4x6 fit out the gate. With SS everything is custom

I haven't used the Simple Stories page protectors but I have used the divided WRMK ones. The 2x12 slot is too long and I understand not liking how that looks, but unfortunately it has to be that long to accommodate the 3 - 4x6 slots that are next to it, due to the extra space required for the seams between the pockets. If it was actually made to fit a page 12" high, the 4x6 photo slots would be too short and those pictures would have to be trimmed to fit. You could add something to your 2x12 strip to fit but there's really no perfect solution. I've had the same issue with the page that has a large landscape oriented 6x12 it the center with 4 - 3x3 pockets along the top and bottom of the page. The 6x12 paper in the slot isn't wide enough to fill the slot.

Yes, but I personally like it. I can mount photos, I can stick tags off of the side of the photo, I can add bulky stuff, etc. I personally prefer it that way.
