I'm need some pea advice!
I have a wide variety of albums of different occasions, some travel, some kids and grandkids, some nieces and nephews, some just misc. but I can't seem to remember which one is which when I want to find something in particular.
So, my question is have you found or seen cute ideas for labeling them? I bought some mini tags and want to use them, but am not sure how to finish them, or if I want them just dangling over the top. if that makes sense? most of my albums don't have a flat spine, more of the arched spine type.

I put a self stick label on the front cover (in a corner) with the dates covered in that album.
On the inside cover I placed a typed piece of cardstock with this info...who made the scrapbook, date completed, and time period covered in the album. Then I list the names of people who are pictured in the scrapbook.

I'm glad you posted this question. I have the same
one. I have 19 albums, filled chronologically with photos (not scrapped, just photos with id). I would like to lable the spine with the year, but I'm not thrilled with how a sticker looks, and I don't know if I want a dangling tag either.
However, I finished 8 pretty scrapbooks for my DD which were her jr high through high school graduation years. They were all red albums (from HL) as that was her high school color (red & black) and I used a number sticker that was about 2" tall in a pretty font to lable them 1-8 in the bottom left corner of the front of the album. Since there are only 8 albums, it's easy to find what she wants to look at.
My albums in my family room are a blend of navy, forest green & black (whatever I could find on sale at the time) and look nice sitting on a shelf all together in a large bookcase. I don't think I want a white lable to detract. What I would like is a small black (chalkboard?) sticker with the year of the album that would be on the bottom of the spine vertically.

I don't label mine. I have a lot of different styles and patterns and sizes. I can tell what they are because each is so different from the others. |

Look in the CTMH catalog. Page 122, bottom of page on left. Label Holders. Oriental trader carried them at one time. You need a spine cover to put them on. Otherwise, I use dangling mini labels that I cut with my sizzix out of chipboard, then I paint them and use letter stickers to tell what is in the album. |
