I remember a year or so ago when I was just a lurker there was a weekly frozen pea thread, but it has kind of gone by the wayside now. Does anybody want to join in if I start a weekly thread for us?
I am officially completely frozen as of a couple days ago. I shouldn't even need to thaw for adhesive anytime soon. It would be fun to commiserate -- I mean, enjoy the freezer! - with others who are trying to use their stash/not spend so much right now.
If people are up for it, or up for a monthly thread, let me know!

Absolutely... I am completely frozen... I really need to make a dent in my stash and come up with a very limited 2013 scrap/crop budget. |

Mizzkb00, a frozen pea is someone who is trying not to shop for scrappy supplies (much).
Yay! I'm so glad people are interested! I will post our first thread Monday! (Only because I'm too anal to start a weekly thread on a Thursday! ) |

I *was* frozen but I brought a selphy, some adhesive, some paper, new 12x12 albums, some 6x6 albums, some flair badges, some ink and a few other things so I guess its more like I crashed and burned!! |

Id like to get the weekly threads going again!
I am just about to reach my 2 year milestone in April of being officially frozen. Not sure i can really say it like that anymore, as having a budget and plan has just become a way of life but it will help me stay on the wagon! |

I'm in! I am finished with my scrappy purchases for awhile and could use some support. I am sticking with my monthly Citrus Twist Kit and PL kit but other than that, I am frozen. It's tough with all the new CHA stuff... |

I would join the freeze because I've been frozen for most of a year now. However, yesterday I ordered a new Xyron and today Office Depot had the Selphy cp900 for $79 with free shipping, so I went for it. So tomorrow starts my freeze. I'm in!

I'm also on a spending freeze. I did buy a partial Olive PL kit but I had planned on getting it last year. I also bought a few packs of Thickers last week but now I am done.
The only thing I will buy is printer ink, adhesive, and card stock if I need it. |

I lurk more than post, but still found the frozen threads to be very helpful last year. I'll try and actually post in the new threads
princessesmith: frozen refers to a spending freeze...most participants have a list of acceptable items to purchase like adhesive, photo developing, cardstock, some have a monthly kit. It's a way of using up what you have while keeping new scrappy purchases to a minimum. Hope that helped! |

Have a nice day!

I never could stay frozen for the whole month, but I can definitely handle being frozen this week. I am following a budget for sure these days, so I'm not even going to be photo printing until Feb. 1, and the first few layouts after that will definitely be from stash. Other than some pix DH decided to get printed for his own reasons, I most likely won't do any scrapping this week, just art journaling. But then with a whole stash of older photos already printed, I can't say for sure. |

I'd love to join. I wanted to do a one year spending freeze with a few exceptions (a weekend crop in March with shopping onsite, for example) but I fell off the wagon hard last week.
O well, maybe if I join the frozen peas I can make it one year from now
I seriously need to dent my stash and stop spending on new stuff.
Thanks for starting this, OP.

I too, am trying to be frozen for 30 days...it's been 17 days However...I would be interested in knowing how you guys feel about this.. I work PT at a scrapbook store (one of the best), so I'm there at least 3 times a week. I think I'm doing very well. Some of my co-workers think I'm crazy for even trying it...LOL!

Count me in too. I did do a good job on Tuesday tho. I went to A's to work on 2 mini albums for friends who just had babies. I used my stash exclusively, except for 2 sheets of cardstock I bought. I was thoroughly impressed with myself!
I walked out having only spent $1.04. I had a coupon, too: spend $15 and get $5 off. I gave it away instead of using it.

JeanneLove, you are a stronger woman than I. I went to A's yesterday, used a different coupon and spent way too much, and actually inside red going back today to spend the coupon you're talking about. Lol. Needles to say, I need to be a frozen pea. I was supposed to be frozen come the first of the year... that lasted three days. So I'm in. |

I am doing pretty well. Except today I had to go into the scrapbooking store and order the papers for my wedding invitations. There was so so much I wanted to buy. I was pretty good and kept it to 2 pattern papers and a packet of divided page protectors which I need if I'm going to do PL or similar.

Yes, please count me in. This month I've been spending like crazy. I don't even need the stuff. I think it has been more "retail therapy" than anything. I've been stressed out, so I need to buy little things to make me feel better, but it really has gotten out of hand. I must stop!!!
On a positive note, I've been doing a lot more scrapping and cardmaking than I have done in a very long while. |

I'm SO excited so many people are up for this too!
I forgot that I have a monthly kit sub, so I will be keeping that. But, it's $29 including tax and shipping, so not *too* bad. I've been considering stopping it, but I decided to give it another 3 months and see what I want to do. |

I am in! I need help to stay (partially) frozen! I like to give myself an "allowance" every month, but thats not just for scrappy supplies. Its for clothes, makeup, other hobbies, etc. Anything that I want that isnt a NEED. So my goals include:
One scrappy purchase per month, either online or at my LSS that is WITHIN my allowance. On top of that, if I choose to spend my allowance on scrappy supplies then I am not allowed to spend on other things and vice versa! Adhesives and basic albums dont count.
Only spending enough at my kit club to get free shipping ($75)
