I am wanting to order two little teeny boxes of paperclips, and the lowest shipping charge is $6.80 I submitted a service ticket but I know it takes them a while sometimes to answer. Thought I'd ask here to see if anyone knows so I can go ahead & order somewhere else if they don't.

TIA!

I've wondered the same thing in the past. Other sites will ship a couple rolls of washi tape in a sturdy envelope for $1.50, but every time I try to do an order like that on Two Peas the shipping is more than the product!

You can submit a service ticket after you have made the purchase and received the parcel. Just send a support ticket with the amount you paid and the amount that was on the parcel when you receive it. I don't know if they will do it before shipping the parcel, it is usually after they will adjust it.

okay, got a response. This is what they said:

The cost of shipping you see at checkout is calculated by our shipping estimate system, and is based on the weight of the order, the estimated size of packaging required, the distance it travels, and the type of mailing used. While I cannot lower the cost in your shopping cart, if you'd like to let me know when the order is placed, I can compare the actual cost of shipping to what we had estimated. If there is a discrepancy, I would be glad to refund you the difference. Just let me know if you decide to place the order!

Please note that Two Peas is not a shipping company, and does not intend to make a profit on the shipping of our goods.

Kind of a pain, but I guess it's better than nothing!

I have to add, though, that their "shipping estimate system" is not very accurate... for two tiny boxes of paperclips that weigh less than an ounce each and could easily fit into a little bubble mailer, $6.80 is way off. I do a lot of shipping myself, and something like that would cost $1.64 through the post office.

Of course, they could still stick it in a big box, ship it through UPS, and it WOULD cost $6.80. But there are way cheaper ways to ship than that!

with other companies, I have emailed them my requet in advance and they gladly agree to ship in an envelope rather than a box. I pay full shipping at check out, but have most of the shipping charge refunded within a couple days.(about $5 out of $7 for example)

I actually have yet to ever purchase an order for scrapbook supplies for this reason, I typically only want a few things not available in my LSS and shipping is $7 on a $5 order for more places. Not worth it. (although I just got a new job [starting Monday!] and I do plan to treat myself with a 2peas order)

Good idea, Susan. I think maybe I'll ask in the notes section of my order if they can put it in a bubble mailer instead of a box. You never know...

I'm anxious to hear how it goes! I wanted to order a few packs of little stickers (like OA's Mini Market), but the shipping would have been over $8! I know they could be easily shipped in an envelope, so I couldn't bear to pay that much.

Another site i checked had three packs of stickers with shipping at $2.30. I haven't ordered yet, because I'd like to support Two Peas. So I'll hold off until I hear what happens with you...
