I had the pleasure of visiting with a friend who is a card-maker/scrapbooker not too long ago and was totally wow-ed by her beautiful space. It was so nicely decorated and warm and cozy and it totally made me want to re-think my space. Her space isn't huge but it's very comfortable and *pretty*. She had three different display areas showing collections of cards...her scrapbook page creations hung on the wall...it was just a creative feast.
It made me want to sit down and stamp right then.
For some reason, I've never been very good at displaying things in my space. It's mostly functional meets cluttered.
I want to change that. Anyone have ideas or pictures to share?
Thanks. |

I don't have anything but my One Little Word page hanging on the wall to remind me daily to be "Present". I have an altered book and an altered art binder but other than that everything is put away. I don't like visual clutter.....messes with my mojo |

"Functional meets cluttered." That's an accurate description of my scraproom too, but one of my favorite things in there is an embroidered wall-hanging I made before I took up scrapping. |

Well, my scrap space is still a work in progress, so I don't have any pics yet, but i wanted the same look. So I have some framed photos on top of my low shelves in between the baskets of dies, cards on top of my tall shelving unit and my sock monkey on top of my paper cubes. I like how my favorite things are mingling with my supplies. I also want to display some LO's on the wall and put some funny quotes on my cork board. Also, some of my supplies are also decorative, such as my bottles and jars of flowers, ribbon and twine and buttons.

My scrap space is my dining room. I have one scrapbook page of both my girls hanging on the wall, and a lot of my children's artwork. Actually I think there is a piece of their artwork on every wall in our house lol. |

My scraproom is also my dining room. I like it because its not icky. It can be seen in all its glory from my front walkway and front door so I don't want it to look like only a scrap space.
I get lots of compliments on my room from delivery men and service people.
I love when they say their rife would love a room like that |

My scrap room is also my work-from-home office and the kids' homework area so it's got a LOT of stuff in it. It used to be purely functional but during my last re-org, I did incorporate some decorative elements in it.
My "happy place" is the ocean, so I added things in all shades of blue and green - teal, robin's egg blue, sea green, etc. Candle holders, flower pots, antique china, bottles with shells, a sign that says "Life Is Good At The Beach", etc.
I keep a lot of supplies in gingerbread and canning jars on top of my scrapping cubes. I added jars with river rocks and glass pebbles. We recently started collecting sea glass and I display that in here now.
I keep my ribbons in jars by color and line up Stickles and paints by color on a white shelf. To me, that's a decorative element. It's right by my desk and makes me happy to look at. I also love Western Europe so I hung prints of Paris, Tuscany, etc. and an old map my dad had given me. Sea blue pillows on the couch, and woven storage bins in beige, blue, and green.
For me, adding the decorative elements has made me so much more comfortable which is nice since I'm in here many hours per day. |

My scrap space is a corner of my bedroom so it's a bit difficult to decorate since most of the wall space I have in my corner is covered with shelves and storage pieces.
I do have a Boo doll and a small framed quote on top of one unit. The quote is a page I got from a magazine that says 'It's never to late to be what you might have been'. I also have a fuzzy caterpillar baby pull toy. and a little merry go round pencil sharpener that goes round when you sharpen your pencil.
Here's a link to my space.
If I had my own room it'd make it easier to make it pretty, but I've decided I really like having everything right by me so some day when I do get my own room I'll probably set it up a lot like it is now. |

My scrap space is my dinette area. I don't have anything on the walls.
It's mostly functional meets cluttered.
I would say this describes my scrappy space.
I knew when we moved here a year and a half ago that it would be temporary. We will be moving by the end of the year and I plan on having a very happy scrappy space. |

I have a decorative scalloped shape chalkboard that has holes all around it. I wove pink with black polka dot ribbon thru it and tied a bow in one corner. "Keep Calm and Scrapbook On" is written on it. I have a black scrapping armoire with black/white patterned hatbox type containers on top and also the word "Create". On top of a small tv I have 3 black/white patterned metal pails that are the perfect size for 1 white flower in each. My space is also the guest room and the colors are black, white, and pink. |

I have my washi, ribbon (on clothespins), buttons and wood veneer all in jars I keep on top of my Expedit. (I got the jars at Target.)
During the holidays, I have had my Nativity up there too. I just moved though, so I am still figuring out some things.

Yes, I have a few. I have a large bulletin board I made with a really large frame from H&L. I painted it black and bought the cork board insert. The frame was over a hundred dollars, but I only paid fifteen dollars for it. My desk is from Target and is black. I have a large black hutch on one wall that I decorate for each season. Right now it is filled with my snowman collection. I have a four foot rustic tree that has just snowflake decorations on it. Next month I will put the Valentines I made out of scrapbook paper on it along with mini frames I decorated with embellies.I also quilt, so one wall has a quilt mounted on it. Below the quilt is a cedar (inside) chest from my great-grandmother. It is where I put all of our albums. I have a closet across from my room where I keep all of my organizing cubes. I do like things to be put away. Above my desk on the wall is a curvy shelf unit with four shelves. The shelves have smaller picture frames with family, many small baskets with stamps, and several jars of ribbons. I just found a really cool flat wire birdcage with clothes pins to attach cards and little things. I don't have it hung yet. This room is usually clean as it is right off our foyer.I love my room!

What a great idea. Right now I have a section of the basement for my scrapping, so needless to say its not that attractive between the furnace and the cinderblock walls but my son just moved out and the plan is for me to take over his bedroom as my craft room so I am definately going to incorporate some of your ideas |

My favorite things about my space are my two comfy chairs, my paper books on shelves and my wall of crosses.
My room is right off the front door and I try to keep it cozy and inviting. It's in my gallery. |

Yesterday I took a bag of little stuffed animals out of a box that's in my closet with memorabilia. I decided they needed to come back out of the box, so I need to do a little rearranging so I can get them up in my very crowded corner. |

Yes. My room in right off my foyer, even though it's full of scrap stuff, I've decorated it like I would any other room in my house. |

I have pics of my darling grandchildren, a frame I altered with the word craft on it, an altered bulletin board, antique cream vases and pots(some filled w/ twine, scissors, etc). I also have a stack of vintage suitcases that I have made cute tags for. These hold a ton of hidden storage. I alos have 4 craft boxes that I covered with paper to pretty up my room & modpodged over it.
I think you should have pretty & usable storage around to define who you are. Along with pictures of beautiful grandkids... |
