Sooo my kids are home today due to ice. I thought it would be a great day to really work on my December album! I suddenly remembered I still had some pictures to print at Walgreens.
I just got them all ordered then my neighbor called to tell me our road is a solid sheet of ice, she fell just walking up to check it out
Why am I sitting here really thinking I should at least try to get to Walgreens since I need those pictures so badly
I can hear my husband when I call to tell him the car is in a ditch and it is 28 degrees outside but I HAD to go to Walgreens. Darn darn

Awww, that's a total bummer, but don't risk it.
My husband would be so disappointed if I chose to drive when I knew the roads were icy.
Better safe than sorry. |

Thanks guys. It is really nothing to complain about!! It just seems when you think you have all your ducks in a row-one runs off! At least for me most of the time.
I just asked dh to stop on his way home from work and run in for me in the 28 degree weather. Hahah

We have 21 degrees here and solid ice too. You must be near me. It's still coming down here. No going out for sure. Sorry the photos are stuck at Walgreens. |

That is disappointing! But probably best to stay home.
I think you should get your own "ice day" sometime soon to make up for this one!

OP and Patter where exactly are you? DD has a cheer competition near Raleigh that we'd have to drive up for tonight from SC.. theres a good chance they might cancel it, but its not official yet.
Course all the girls (DD included texting from school) are saying its still on, but I'm not sure they are right and we haven't officially heard yet from the coach so...(you hear me half freaking out here right? We're used to ice, but driving 4-5 hrs one way kind of eeks me a little)
Needless to say, its rediculously cold outside here too lol, but no ice(yet) |

I am in Hickory, NC. My aunt is in Raleigh, and she is getting snow/ice, and they closed schools. Ours have been closed all day but they just cancelled Raleigh schools about 2-3 hours ago I guess. They are saying it won't get better here until at least afternoon Saturday because the temps will keep it frozen on the ground. I pray they cancel for you. I wouldn't want to drive up here right now. Be safe! |

I'm in High Point NC but work in Greensboro. They released us from work early due to the weather. The roads are pretty icy and I wouldn't recommend traveling between Greensboro and Raleigh, NC. The ice keeps covering the windshield of cars, even withe the heater and defroster on. Please be careful if you are traveling

I didn't have to go to work today because of the ice storm. I've spent quite a bit of time catching up on the Two Peas Videos. Much better than working plus most of my extended family got to stay safe at home, too. I did venture out on the porch to take some pictures of the ice on trees and bushes. Dangerous on the roads, but pretty otherwise. Oh, and I'm in Tennessee. |

I'm in Thomasville, NC. My husband had a procedure done this morning at Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem and the roads were awful coming home. Please be safe if you are driving in the triad area of NC.
However, this really is good scrapping weather. Fire in the fireplace, dinner in the crockpot, scrapping the night away. |

Please be safe. It was awful here in Chicagoland area. It took forever to get ds to school, so I stopped at Hl to stretch my legs and I get home, only to receive a call that ds felt unwell and had to get right back in the car and picked him up. At least the roads were better going home the second time. Stay end. |

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately they didn't cancel. I'm kind of surprised they kept it on, doesn't seem like a wise decision to me at all.
So dh and both dd's are on there way up there right now (stopped in Florence sc for dinner). Quite concerned actually, but I'll let them know what's ahead. |

I am in Chattanooga, Tn. My dh did bring the pics home BUT by the time he got here with working later, traffic and weather---they are sitting on the counter. Lucky for me he did not question the urgency and them still sitting there. I hope to start tomorrow before the wrestling tournament my son is in.
I am VERY intrigued with this Selphy thing but afraid to research it. It might be something I neeeeddd!!

Oh my! We are still solid ice here, and we are under a winter weather advisory until noon. I have 4 doors to go outside of my house, and we can only use 1 because all of the others are so dangerous with ice! The one we are using is under a balcony so it didn't get the ice. Be careful!!! Temps have not warmed up enough to melt this stuff!

I was going to suggest an Epson Charm instead. A Selphy is made by Canon and is the same thing as a Charm--they both are small photo printers. I have the Charm and LOVE it!!! It's all I use to print photos anymore. I prefer the Charm because it prints on matte paper. I do not like glossy at all, and Canon does not have matte paper. I don't need the wireless function so the Charm is perfect for me. Look on amazon for both. They have great prices. |

I wanted to pop in and say that printing at home has revolutionized me. I am busy and work full-time and the freedom from NOT needing to plan ahead is wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!!
Just this week I was working on a layout and wished a 2010 printed picture was cropped tighter. So, I just pulled that jpeg up in iPhoto, cropped it and reprinted it and my wish came true in a nano-second.
I have the Epson Picturemate Charm, because I love, love, love Epson ink quality.
Maybe for Valentine's or Mother's Day you could get a new little buddy. Mine is quite CHARMing. |
