|Posted: 1/25/2013 2:24:50 PM|Hi Fellow Scrapping Friends! My wonderful husband surprised me with a Silhouette Cameo for my birthday and I am loving it! I was wondering if anyone knew of any great tutorials for how to use it- I learn better thru watching people rather than just reading a bunch of instruction manuals... I recently purchased some digital files from Studio Calico but when I try to save them to my Silhouette library and use them, it saves them as print files instead of cut files, and then tells me the image will be fuzzy... I am super confused. I emailed the Silhouette company on a different issue but I never heard back so that was a little disappointing...
Any advice?? There may even be classes right here on TwoPeas that I'm not aware of... I want to use my Cameo to the fullest, but am just a little intimidated by it right now.... Thanks so much!!!

The silhouette blog is a great place to start and there are also a ton of how to videos on YouTube.
I'm not sure about studio calico files but I have imported a ton of files from other sources into my silhouette software with no issues. Could the files you purchased be print files??
I open my outside files by first opening the software. Then go to the top, of the window in the command bar I think it is file. Sorry I'm not in front of my machine right now. Then go to open and navigate to where your downloaded file is and open it. Try it this way, it may work.

My hubby surprised me with one at Christmas, so I am learning too! I have found kerri Bradley's classes on jessicasprague.com, and YouTube has been a big help also.
Check out kerribradley.com, she has a bunch of nice freebies! And the silhouette online store has a freebie every week, and clearance items change every Tuesday.

I have taken Kerri Bradfords classes from JessicaSprague.com and love them. I can't say enough nice things about Kerri and her classes. I had a system crash and had bought a bunch of shapes from her website www.kerribradford.com. I emailed her and she was the sweetest in collecting all of the files I had purchased and re-sent them to me. I now have them all in a zip file on my external hard drive. I won't make that mistake twice. I can't wait to get the designer software and take her designer class there also.
