Ok, so I'm working on my son's soccer album and I think I came up with something new to get done more efficiently and was wondering if anyone else has ever tried this.
It seems more like an assembly line way of doing things---first I sketched out all the pages, then I put together all the pages--pictures and paper only, now tonight (and probably tomorrow) I'm going to go through them and embellish, title and journal them all.
So far, I've done 12 pages in three nights--plus 2 days of finishing them--so 5 days and 12 layouts done!!
It seems like it'll be less digging, and less of a mess. Anybody else try this with any success? So far, I like this new approach--we'll see.

I belong to Club Scrap and they've been doing ALSB (assembly line scrapbooking) with their kits for awhile now. There would be directions on how to use the monthly kit to make about 12 pages. It was really great because I'd just do that and add photos later. It really comes in handy when I didn't care for a kit. Once it was cut up and photos added it was all good.
If you like sketches check out the page maps website. She releases (free) sketches every month. 12x12, 8.5x11, cards etc. she also has an archive of past sketches. I print them out and put them in a binder and take it with me when I go to crops.

Yes, yes, I work in ASSEMBLY fashion. MUCH, MUCH faster, IMO, and also more enjoyable, as each "stage" of a LO requires a groove and when I am in that groove it is easy to stay IN that groove. |

i do this alot with art journaling - do a bunch of backgrounds... then work through the pages, layer by layer, alternating between them... |

I've done this off and on for years...I agree, once you get in that groove it's so much easier, you get so much done and then add embellishments later after the pics are added

No, but now I want to try! I used to do 3 or 4 LOs in a row with the same kit or a collection but it didn't occur ro me to try it this way. TFS! |

I have been doing something like this for about 2 years now. I tend to make the layouts first. Then add photos, then add the embellishments and journaling.
Other than making things much faster for me it is also better for clean up since I don't have everything out at once. |

I just started doing this...and I love it. Particularly because I can do the layout and get the pictures on pretty quickly...and then spend more time on the embellishing, which is the really fun part!
I find I'm more productive this way, and its more conducive to the small chunks of time I have for scrapbooking.

I like to do this too. I've used the SEI Albums in a box as well for quick projects too, made for a perfect gift once I popped the pictures in too. |

I often work this way if I have a lot of pages to get through. It works well for me. Sometimes I do the sketches and all the cutting out one day, then all the assembly the next day.
I alos have a heap of page packs made up and this helps speed up the process too. No wasting time searching for paper that matches the cardstock, I've already packaged it. |

No, but now I want to try!
You really must! I match paper and pictures, then grab sketches, then assemble the paper and photos onto the layout together. Then, I have a big stack to go back and title and journal and embellish. I tend to title and journal together, then embellish and hand sew after that.
Love working in batches!! |

I start out by organizing photos by date and putting in sheet protectors, picking a sketch, then papers. I put my layouts in labeled letter trays to remind me what needs done next; circuit, find page title, journaling, find date (random heritage pages). So when my son is at preschool I can pull out the circuit, cut a bunch of stuff and assemble when he goes to bed.
It works great because I usually don't have a big amount of time to do an entire page in one sitting. It helps me stay focused one doing just one thing.

I work like this for albums.
I can get a 20-30 page album done in less than 5 days if I do |
