I am on the wait list and got the Sorry, maybe next time email. I'm kinda over the hype now and given more time to "wait and consider" I'm starting to feel like I don't want to sub now.

Is the magic wearing off for anyone else? I'm thinking about being asked to be removed from the wait list, but wondering if they charge the cancel fee for that. Yes, the kits are cool and all that, but I'm not a patient person, lol.

Maybe I'll wait to see if I'm bumped again next month.

They better not charge a cancel fee to get off of the waiting list!

Goodluck deciding. It's easy to get all caught up in the hype but maybe it's a good thing that you have another month to decide.

I really do like the kits, but I signed up as soon as it was available sight unseen--only because I knew they were going out.

I'm sorta over 2Peas because of the loyalty program, so I understand how you feel... I just got the 15% discount and they changed it...

At least with SC I'm getting a percentage off after spending a load of money over there.

i'm a subscriber and i think after my time is up i wont renew my subscription i feel that i don't get enough on my PL kit nothing special beside the stamps and in my opinion they are starting to look the same to me with the one in the main kit.... i also subscribe to the citrus twist PL and i get tons of products for less of what i paid for SC so i will stick just to that one and my HUGE stash...

Dalia,

I subscribed to Citrus Twist and will be getting my first kit in Feb. I think I was on the wait list with them for like two weeks. And I think they are going to be more my style as well.

I wanted Studio Calico for the stamps and exclusives as well, but I'm thinking it may not be worth to me now, lol.

Nicole, I made the mistake of waiting to see if I liked what I saw before signing up. I really didn't think it would get this bad, lol.

If I didn't follow some of their CT's blogs, I would never have anything to do with them. I have been wanting to try one of their kits forever and they always sold out right when it became available. When they have sales from their store, their shipping is rediculous too. I love their stuff, but I will buy from two peas and not through them.

I sent an e-mail maybe two weeks ago to be on the Citrus Twist wait list and just got my invite over the weekend so I joined. It's unfortunate if SC knows how many are already on their wait list that they can't plan ahead and accomodate that.

Yep I'm about to decide I don't need that PL kit subscription either after being on the wait list since December 27. I didn't want to sign up sight unseen and after being wait-listed AGAIN and the complaints about the wonky cornered cards I'm thinking I'll just go without. I don't get a wait list for a kit club ! Do you not need the business ?

I can understand being waitlisted for one month, but I would think that they would be able to rotate most people off after a month. How far in advance are they ordering their supplies?? And, frankly, they know that their kits (both main and PL) sell like hotcakes, so why don't they just order a ton to begin with?

Yes, I know, it's that whole "exclusivity" thing that comes from there not being enough to go around, but frankly, needing to be part of the cool kids club went out of style in highschool. No offense to any highschoolers who may be lurking

CT also has exclusive stamps and you get a whole 6x6 pad a lots of other stuff... with SC all you get is the 30 cards two flairs and a few die cuts and the stamps for me not defenitly worth it i will give it my time and see if there is any improvement.

^^ ITA! I couldn't care less whether every other scrapbooker has the exact same stuff I do or if it's 'exclusive', it's not like we're all going to use it in exactly the same way.

The whole thing with the kits being so limited and selling out so fast really puts me off subscribing to SC....they have some really pretty stuff, but so do a lot of other companies and I'd rather have time to choose and compare supplies properly before I buy them.

April said it's all made in China, so they have to order three months in advance. And she said they based how much they ordered on the number of people who signed up for the PL Kit, and the number of people who did something directly with BH and that number was much lower than the number of people who ended up signing up.

I'm still on the list and I'm giving it one more month. It would be pointless to start half way through the year with a coordinating kit when I've been making my own cards for a month now. They did say the wait listers would be getting an e-mail with something worked up special for them, but I have yet to get said e-mail.

CT site isn't usually that slow, but I also noticed that it's dragging today. I don't sub to SC, but I got my first CT kit this month and I love almost everything in it. There's some tulle(sp?) fringe that I'm never going to use, but other than that, I love everything in the kit. And there's so much stuff! For those looking to get off the SC waitlist, I say jump on over to CT. Lol

PS: I hope I didn't offend anyone. I understand why people purchase the SC kit. I personally just don't like waiting for things like that. I don't even like waiting for tables at restaurants.

I understand that things are ordered in advance and are shipped from outside the States. But, they know that everything they put out is popular. How many times have we seen subscribers talk about the add on kits selling out almost immediately? They know how quickly their items sell; they have the sales history. They choose to under order for the demand. Which is their right, of course.

Also, if SC checked out the FSOT board here, they'd see there are so many people trying to get their hands on SC kits.

I feel the same as you do OP. I signed up Dec 26th thinking I might miss Jan but not Feb. It's a little ridiculous to expect everyone to put PL on hold for them. I'm realizing that my homemade PL cards are pretty good, and I'm also very close to canceling...
At the same time, I've been waiting to place a big order here pn Two Peas for over two months waiting for a few fave products to be back in stock..I mean, if they aren't going to restock, just don't keep it on the website! Drives me insane!

Their practice is generally getting annoying after being a member for a year. There is so much hype around the new products/kits and I feel like a crazy Black Friday shopper sometimes at 11:57, waiting and hitting refresh to try and pick up an add-on kit or paper, or something that's caught my eye.

I'm over it.

Seeing the kit that Glitter Girl mentioned on her blog which will be available here has made my decision. I am cancelling SC and going to try hers. I love the fact that I have the flexibility that I can pull out this or that if it isn't necessarily me and I can always add in what extras I'd like as well.

A Project Lifer, I've vowed not to purchase a kit, ever. There is so much inspiration out there, I only buy my WRMK albums and a variety of page protectors and make what I have work.

Signed up for PL at SC the day it was announced so I was never on a wait list. The kit is great and the stamps are awesome!! I think the fact that it started in January and some have to wait a month or two is not too bad. It is a small business trying to make it happen for everyone who is interested.
Also-- PL does not have to start in January. Mine runs October to October so just because you are not receiving the kit in January does not mean your PL is ruined.
I guess all I am saying is that SC along with all the other great monthly kit companies(CT, CD, etc) are trying to make it happen. It really is just about making YOUR story and I am guessing we all have enough supplies to get through until we "make the list" or waiting until the next month when everything is not sold out.

But everyone's process is different and for some people working from October to October is not going to work and their PL will be ruined. Personally if I had to wait until March (or later) for a kit I would cancel.

There are lots of companies that are dong PL compatible kits. CT is one of them and it only took a month to get off the waitlist.

Yes, I know, it's that whole "exclusivity" thing that comes from there not being enough to go around

SC has quite a track record of things being allegedly exclusive. Until they're not. It kills me that this is still a major selling point for them.

That is the beauty of PL it the different process as scrappyesq mentioned. October to October or January to January or whatever. I just finished listening to the scrapbook discussion on paperclipping roundtable (Jan 22nd discussion) this evening while I "played in my room" and that was the emphasis of the program....PL it is what you what you personally want it to be.

I guess my issue is if you are tired of waiting or not happy with how they handle their exclusives then move on instead of complaining. There are ALOT of people who would be very happy you moved on so they move up on the lists!!! It's a win-win for everyone.

I agree. It's scrapbooking! That exclusive journaling stamp, paper, or whatever? Lots of other options out there that are just as good. The only thing I would understand is if they had rights to a brand name like Hello Kitty, a fashion label, or things that can't be copyrighted.

Hi PL'ers! Trina from Citrus Twist here answering the question about seeing the kits on our site.

On the 12th of each month we go live with our kits and their pictures.

All you need to do is hover over the KITS tab, then scroll down and click on the current month's kits. So for January you click on "January 2013 Kits." All the kits are on a sliding photo bar so if you hang out there for a minute, you'll see each of our kits scroll through.

We are also good at getting back to people with questions, so if you have any, just email using the "Contact" tab from our site.

Thanks, Trina

I love to look at kits. i was subscribed to one many moons ago and I loved it but one day I just didn't like it anymore. I force myself to use the kits I didn't like and that left me with a negative attitude toward kits.
But I have loved every single SC in the past year. I seriously thought about signing but I really like to cherry pick to my very picky heart content.
I don't think a kit is for everyone but If I would pick one it would be Sc or the CT. I think they do a great job. When things are good people tend to flock toward it so yes I would get myself in line for those kits.
Anyways! what i'm trying to say. If it's a kit you want I would keep waiting. If you just don't want to be attached to anything the cancel because when it comes to kits they ARE the bests.

So here's my 2 cents:

I'm not a PL'fer - I signed up for a scrapbooking sub wait list but didn't wait hardly a day or two before I got my subscription notice. I was super excited because I loved what I saw on Pinterest and Instagram and loved the incentive of getting an early jump on the add-ons for a discounted price.....
Well, I wish I had seen this thread before signing up! No sooner than the add on to feb kit was avail at 25 off it was sold out!!!?? And I was told well wait until it becomes avail for the gen public but then I wouldn't get it at the discounted price so....tell me the great thing about being a sub member then?
And then today I see on Instagram that they were offering a 5 dollar grab bag but I never got an email notifying me which I feel like they should if you're a subscriber, and of course they're all sold out.

I guess I'm bummed out I'm now obligated to this company for the kits but I guess that's all ill get if I don't stay glued to the phone or computer for their deals? I dunno....

After a five year break, I'm back baby!!! Now help Bellies get her Groove back....

I'm really shocked at all the people who are sick of the Studio Calico monthly kits, kind of upsetting I just signed up for the first time for any kit and I went with SC. I really just wanted the PL kit but of course, I've been on the wait list since the first of January and again got the "you're still on the wait list this month" e-mail. I got a free download a few of the PL Cards from the Jan kit and I did enjoy that so at least I have something from that kit, little but better than nothing. I agree that they should definitely be ordering more kits because there are a lot of people that don't subscribe that like to buy it once it's up. So I'm getting my first monthly Scrapbook kit from them for Feb, I was wait listed for Jan too but yes, hopefully I will find it worth while. I think that my purchase from two peas are extremely exciting and I pick it all out so if these don't work out I'm sure I'll cancel and stop with kits altogether.

I do have to say that everyone keeps saying the kits all tend to look the same but I have looked at past kits and think they are all good and different, I guess similar in colors and what not but I guess I enjoy the style. Some of the stamps seem like "what the heck am I going to do with that" but in a way it's a challenege to incorporate it

I agree that it's very difficult to see what is in the PL kits over at Citrus Twist and the site is a little confusing. I wish they'd post more pictures or have a list of what is in each kit.

Also- where do you see what the design team members have created and is there a message board?

Don't let the negative talk discourage you. Wait until you see the kit, I'm sure you will it. I've only subbed to SC for a few months and I have used up the entire kit before the next one arrives. I get the frustration of some, but remember that there are many who love the kits each month. There are some months when I get the "discount" and the "sale" stuff and some months that I miss out. Oh well, better for my wallet anyway. Enjoy the Feb. kit - I can't wait for the ombre washi & wood veneers!

I only subbed for the stamps. I will be one of those people putting my cards up on the FSOT board each month. I will be keeping those Flair though. LOL

I didn't sub to CT...because basically it is a cardmaking kit comprised of many products I either already buy from here or my LSS. I don't see it as being as "unique" as the SC kit - their custom stamp aside. It is a nice kit for sure, but not what I need when I already sub to SC main and buy quite a bit from 2peas etc.

I wanted to clarify that I loved all of the kits. I am just not a fan of what happens when I want one of the extras...I've just been disappointed more times than not; mere minutes after the Presale, everything I want is sold out. I sign up to be notified of when it is available again only to receive the email soon after my kit shipped which means I have to pay another $10 for the shipping. Had I been able to purchase it right away, there's no extra cost for shipping. This has happened more than a few times, an I'm just done with that part.

Love everything that's ever been in a kit, maybe not the feathers haha.
