This is my first post and I am a new project lifer & I am looking for tips on splitting photos and titles amongst different pockets? For example: a large image taking up multiple pockets in a design A project life page? Any guidance would be lovely! Thanks

It looks cool to do that! You can get 12x12 photos printed at Costco or Persnickety Prints (probably others too) or you can do an 8 1/2x11 baseball card insert and print that size page at home. Or whatever smaller size. I have split 4x6 photos into two slots.
I guess I am not sure exactly what you want help with - I just measured mine and cut them apart with my trimmer.

Thanks Tiffanyo I watched Amy Tan's video and I think I have just been wondering if anyone has any other video/blog examples? I have visions of dividing up my photos but I have learned from experimenting that you can't just cut through any portion of any photo, I messed up a pic of my husband and I at our wedding by cutting in between our faces lol

There are few examples over in the studio calico gallery where photos have been split up between page protectors.
I love the look but have yet to try it- I feel like I'm going to cut my pieces the wrong sizes |

I think part of the trick is picking the right photo that can be cut into parts and working out where those cuts are going to go. |

I usually put the photo behind the page protector so I can see where the pocket dividing lines are going to land. If they cut through a face, I either enlarge it some more or jsut move it around and back the smaller photo piece with some cardstock. I'm not publishing my pages, they are for me and my family so if one has some cardstock on the edge, I'm okay with it. Hope that helps-good luck! | |

Check out Amy tans blog, she does PL Los like that a lot! Also I know A lot of different peas use persnickety prints to print out 12x12 prints and cut them up into fours and place them in a page protector.. As a matter a fact amy tan did a video on that right here at twopeas check there video gallery it was a few weeks back! |

Number one make sure it is a digital photo that you can reprint! 
I like the idea of putting it behind the page protector. When it comes to making it the right size. It is easy enough on my trimmer anyway to measure out 4x6. The small pockets on the A style are just shy of 3" wide so I would trim a bit off of one of the outside edges, then cut the pieces a tiny bit small.
I know Ali Edwards does this too - check out her blog. And you may look at the Becky Higgins design teams from last year and this year (which you can Google or find on HER blog).
I feel like the enlarged pictures are often landscapes or still lifes and less often photos with faxes. Either that or the people are together in one pocket and the background fills the rest.
If you have PSE you could use the grid to see where your cuts will end up as you crop too! | |
