I have finally got around to making the January Tag that Tim Holtz is doing.

If you are not familiar with it. Every month he is making a tag and sharing lots of inspiration and techniques.
He used to make 12 tags of Christmas, but is now making 12 months of the year.
More manageable...even though it still took me till the end of the month to start it, lol.

Here is the tag I did

Tracy's Tag

Here is Tim's tag

If you are playing along I would love to see yours

I love Tim's tags and have made a few,but I just don't have enough of his stamps, embossing folders, etc.to do much. Your tag is really nice!

I've never done any of Tim's Christmas tags but I enjoyed looking at them. I think I may have enough TH supplies to do the monthly tags, although I'm sure I would have to swap-out some of the products. Thanks for posting this. I'll check out both of your tags as soon as I post this.

OP, I'm assuming from your post that Tim did not do the 12 Tags of Christmas for 2012? I usually look it up either at his site or on YouTube.

ETA: Love that tag! You did an awesome job, Tracey! TFS!

Thanks

I think it is more about using his techniques then his product.
You can still play along if you really want to.

I didn't have everything he had. I improvised with different products and things I had on hand.
If you look at the bottom of my post. I shared some of the things that I did differently, because I didn't have his products.

Tracy, thanks for posting this. I have done the 12 tags of Christmas for several years (well, not all 12 every year but at least 5 or 6) and I hang them on our Christmas tree. I skipped the 12 monthly tags last year, but you have inspired me to give them a try this year.

I especially like the way you were able to use what you had in your stash to make a terrific tag. I agree that you do not need to have the exact product or design to make a great tag. The idea is more in the technique and general effect- the exact sentiment on the stamp or the particular colors are not the important thing. I certainly have enough Tim Holtz products to give it a try. I hope you will post here on Two Peas every month with your creation, and maybe some other peas will give it a try and post theirs too.

Tracy - really love your tag (but then I love everything you do!). I totally forgot about Tim's tag tutorials - must do something similar; think I have everything he's used on this one.

Great tag! This tag would be perfect for a card for DH. Clocks and gears and stuff.

Guess I should take a better look with Valentine's Day coming up and all.

I used to stay up late to look at his 12 Days Tags, and even tried a couple of the techniques. No matter how much of his stuff I accumulate, it seems like there's not quite enough to complete something, or worse digging through drawers and containers of stuff and not finding something that could sub.

I looked through my stash and I DO have the clock embossing folder, so no excuse not to make this tag today.

Tracy- l hope you will start a thread showing us your version of the Feb tag.
