Hey ladies,
Picked up a design runner for 9.99 at Michaels, which I assumed was a good deal! Has anyone used one? Any tips or advice? Honestly I just bought it out of curiosity because it was cheap

I like mine. I also got a nice deal but yours was a steal! I recommend buying the attachment that allows you to print straight or in arcs. I bought a bunch of cards inexpensively on eBay. Most people probably think it's not worth it because they could stamp or use a die cut but I love gadgets and couldn't pass up a deal. I worry though about Xyron no longer supporting it since it was not really a hit. I heard that other ink cartridges can be used though. Hope you like it.

I got it for so cheap because it was a store demo used in classes. The manager told me it works. When I opened it up I found the design runner, something that looks like a keypad, I think it's to write your own discs, 1 blank disc, 1 starter disc, and 1 holiday disc.
However, I can't get it to work! I unlocked the runner, turned it on, pressed to select a pattern and then pushed the green button to print but nothing is happening! Do you have any advice? I thought maybe the ink might be bad, however, wouldn't it at least still make noise when I tried to use it?
Would appreciate any insight you have! Thanks

I bought a bundle off Craigslist a couple years ago and printed off the user guide from on line. I remember having issues getting the ink to flow initially and there is a way to prime the machine. Use the wrench feature if I remember correctly.

After you pick the design, press and hold the green button until a P shows in the window. It won't make any noise. Once a small P shows in the window, you can move the machine and it should print. You have to keep pressing and holding the green button as you move it. A single square in the window will print it once, but if you press the button with the squares to show multiple squares, it will print repeatedly. Hope that works. If not, it might be the ink cartridge since you always need to keep it on the base when not in use to keep it from drying out. The wrench button can be used to clean it. Good luck! |
