I have a couple in my stash that have journaling lines, but I also have one coming in a kit club that is more of a regular stencil stype with shapes. Are we talking paint? Mist? (I think my style is a little too "clean" for mist!) And if you DO mist, how do you keep from making it look a mess?

And with the ones I have with journaling lines, I have just used them to trace pencil marks that will be erased later. I would love more ideas for those as well.

I use them on everything--layouts, art journaling, etc. I love to use them on layouts with modeling paste. You can see how I did that on this layout here:

Mother-Daughter Duet

I also use mists with them, and love it. It can make a mess but if I don't like something, I just cover it up. Have fun and experiment.

If you use mists....hold them farther away for a cleaner look, but if you use acrylic paint and a key card they come out with a better clean look.
Here is Julie Fei-Fan Balzer's recent post showing how she uses her designs on scrapbook pages.
Balzer Designs Stencil--Scrapbook pages
She also has a free course on her blog about using stencils and how to get different messy and cleaner looks from them.( I think it is still there...I took it quite some time ago.)

It was fate that I would enjoy paper crafts...my name is Sharmon (like the TP)!

I have number of their templates and use them all the time. I use them for tracing and cutting out paper designs. Use them for placement of journaling and embelishments... also for paste like posted above. I just pulled a ton out the other day that I am planning to use with mists and paint. I have never used mists in my life so it should fun! lol

So far I've used mine just for misting.

I think clean style and misting can work well together. I think my pages are kinda clean (?? not "clean and simple", but clean rather than messy), and misting can work well.

I think I may have some type of mist in my stash...This will require investigation! I don't mind trying mist, I am just not very confident in my ability to NOT make it look like I accidentally spilled something and ruined my layout!

The paste looks interesting, but I would probably use it more on my crafting projects or even cards. My pages tend to be a little lighter and flatter. Still, on canvas... WOW!

You can also paint the mists on with a small paint brush. Open the lid, dab in your brush, and paint away. Or spritz a bit of paint into a cup first. I do that sometimes too! Just another idea.
