Two Peas had my order packed and shipped the day after I placed it. I chose the Priority Mail option as usual. My package is doing more traveling than I have in the last year. Two stops in Wisconsin, then off to Memphis, now it's in Dallas. Sheesh...hoping it's in Oklahoma soon. |

Priority mail is supposed to reach you in 2 to 3 days. Has it been longer since you ordered?
Or are you just amazed that the P.O. has it stopping so many times along the way?
It's like flying someplace and having multiple lay-overs. |

Today is day 4 I think, so at the earliest it will be here tomorrow. SO just a day over normal. No big deal. I guess in my mind if should have just come south from Wisconsin, not east then south then back north. lol |

I have noticed this too! Then I realize that USPS has been shutting down a lot of their outskirts offices..... Particularly in lower population areas, which has resulted in longer shipping times and I think more sporadic movements. It's always fun to see where your package has gone that you have not though!

I've had packages stop in Reno, go to Sacramento and then come back through Reno to be delivered to me in the next town over.

My last order arrived at my local post office, the next day it said it was being transferred to my local post office. I was wondering how that happened. Did someone had the package to someone standing outside who handed it back? |

I guess that I am fortunate then because I pay for priority and it goes from Wisconsin to Louisiana in two days, almost every time. Only once in the past year did it take three days. |

And this is the base problem with the USPS, IMO.
I track packages and they go to wild and crazy places. My very favorite was a package that was sent from northern CA, got all the way to NC (where I live) and somehow ended up back in southern CA and then made it back to me.
Seriously!? |

It's because of all the postal closings that have been happening this past year! The USPS is closing a ton of there service centers and offices.. So needles to say your package won't be going from point a to point b so easily anymore.. It may have to jump through some hoops to get to you |

I agree it is nuts. Closures or not there is no reason for a package to cross the states several times or go to Hawaii before making its way to its destination.
We have three postmen drive down our street each day - no reason for that as we are in an area that sort of dead ends we back up against hills with no houses so not a reason to drive through our area unless they are delivering. Combine the routes so that they aren't driving in the same area multiple times a day. What a waste.
The PO isn't the only one that can take a while. I had two packages from the same place coming to me one was smart post FX and the other regular FX - the FedX one got here in two days the other one took over a week and it wasn't just because of the PO it was Fed X that package seemed to be checked in and out of the same place multiple times. |

LOL. Heck, you add 2 extra hours for a snow delay and it would still be on time.

LOL.
Imagine if the USPS had to issue refunds/price adjustments for Priority shipments that took longer than 3 days. They would go out of business. |

I feel for you ladies. You really want to put this in perspective? I live in Sweden and provided that customs doesn't detain anything (which sadly now happens with my 2Peas orders), it takes a week to the day for post to arrive from North America. So it seems that I'm getting my orders in the same amount of time as you are, but a quarter of the way around the world - ouch!

These tales are hilarious and sad all at once. I've had a package that should have been delivered in one week's time sit in one spot in California for almost a month before heading to me. Two Peas shipped the package really quickly -- that wasn't the problem -- but somewhere along the way the package lost the will to live and had to be talked back onto an airplane.

I ordered something (not from 2Peas) on the 6th, was shipped out on the 8th. The USPS tracking says it was in Nashville, then on the 10th went down to Miami and now (9 days later) it says nothing. Where, oh where, has USPS taken my little package? I know things shipping to Canada take longer, but really.. the tracking hasn't even been updated!

My husband works for UPS and when he started he would deliver to places with loose dogs. But after being bit twice and losing out on pay (yes work related so they paid him regular hours but not the overtime that he usually makes) he doesn't go into yards with dogs...no matter how nice they may seem. |

30 years ago, we lived in Germany. Our address was an APO (which is a US address). I ordered address labels from Walter drake. Months passed and they had not arrived, so I got a refund.
About a year later, the labels arrived, the envelope totally undamaged. The only indication we had of where they had been was a post mark on the back - Tel Aviv!

The post office will no longer be delivering mail on Saturdays starting in August. My DH's cousin is a mail carrier and she said they'll still deliver packages and medicine though. And that they'll have to deliver 6 days worth of mail in 5 days' time. Not sure how the whole package delivery thing will work though. |
