I just bought some of the MME Boy Crazy line. Its a little vibrant and crazy for me, although I love it . So I went to the gallery to search out some ideas from fellow peas on what combos look good. I was surprised that there were layouts from 6/2012 with this paper (since it just came out). Then I realized it was in digital format first.

Does this happen often and I just never realized: digital forms of paper being released before the physical paper?

My guess is they picked her up as a designer. Interesting though, I thought it was "new" as well.

That is strange - but I agree. I bet they just added the designer on.

Oh she must be a new to them designer I agree and they must have just adored that line to want it after it was available digitally. There are several digital designers who design for paper manufacturers but I am sure that licensing agreements are in place to make sure that there is a time lapse in place before paper designs are then made available in the designers own digital store.

A lot of the paper companies pick up existing digital papers... Probably far more than you would imagine.

ETA: Just expanding on what fruitysuet has said. Many paper designers also sell digitally, just because it keeps them fresh. They then shop those designs out to the paper companies, and it is either picked up as-is, or expanded to be a full line like you are used to.

Generally, if you design something for a paper company you can't release it digitally, although the paper manufacturer might. If you release it digitally first, they will pick it up and produce it in paper, but the digital version is still floating around. Two very different markets.

Went and checked out her stuff vs. MME and they have used her a LOT! Several of the 6x6 pads are her designs, Gnome Sweet Gnome was one that I thought was adorable. Her Hello Sunshine was made into On The Sunny Side. I loved that collection!

MME if you are listening there are a few I would love to see made into full lines, some I know are already 6x6 pads, but I don't use those.
