I had actually planned to start the first of January on New Year's Day and do it on a weekly basis for my PL. I have fallen behind, few pictures and got a little started at the beginning and now I feel a little pressured to catch up to now.
Has anyone gotten behind with their PL and have anyone been able to catch up and keep going? I don't want to quit now and regret it later that I didn't do anything about it.
I'll need a push to get this caught up and try to keep going.

no way! I did my 2012 project life in December! I had everything in files, for each month, and just sat down and put it all together in a weekend. I just couldn't ever seem to get to it (this year was a little crazy), and it was kind of a fun way to look back at the year.
I'm doing PL this year as a baby album for my new baby, and I'm going to try to do it as the year goes, because I'd like to make sure I record things as they happen, instead of trying to remember months later.

Start today! Don't worry about it! I know, easier said than done. Unless you are really concerned about starting from Jan 1, I would just start now, if you can.

This is my first year, but I haven't even started yet. I have all the supplies I will need, but am in the process of moving and reorganizing my crafting space. I'm having a baby in May, so I plan on focusing on that for the most part. I would ideally start the baby album & a family album soon, but am not stressing about it. I figure it is my book, so if I don't have every week in there, oh well. It will still be fun to look through!
|Posted: 2/7/2013 6:19:57 PM|I was SO prepared this year. Had all the supplies, took pictures, journaled almost every day in my calendar book. Guess who never started? Me.
But...I DID catch up!! I sorted my pictures and put them in the pockets. Left spaces for journaling cards. Went back and filled in with my journaling. Had 3 weeks done in an hour.
Am I caught up now? Nope. Am I worried? Nope. I feel that as long as I take the pictures and journal a little bit about the day, then I can catch up again when time permits.

I do not think that it is ever to late to start. It can run Feb-Feb and still be great. I am starting on Monday and am going to do it for a year from there. Will not be a picture a day I am sure but hopefully there will be enough taken for a layout a week.

There's no such thing as being "behind" in Project Life! That's the whole point! Just get to it when you get to it and record what you can. Anything is better than nothing! I can only work on my PL about once a month or so. I keep a little calendar from the dollar store and write down what we do to help me remember when I have time and I mostly use pics from my phone that I print at home or occasionally I'll send a batch out to be printed and then get them in the mail and do a month at a time. I also have a pile of ephemera for each month of things I might want to include. Doing it this way means I can work on it when I have time, so I have the "stuff" waiting for me.

I have been behind by about 6 weeks and caught up. Start with the most recent week, and then work backwards. Also, skip the over embellishing and stick to photos and journal cards. It can be done. You can even do one page instead of two if need be.

I am behind also. I have taken my pictures and wrote them down on a list. I plan to get January done this weekend. I feel like if I get too much further behind I will end up not doing this year. I really wanted to start with January.

I was 12 weeks behind at one point last year - and still managed to get caught up and finish the album the second week of January. My strategy was to print the pics first, then do the journalling, then any filler cards. I would take it in about 3-4 week chunks and spend a couple of hours with it. It can be done - and I firmly believe you are never really behind!
|Posted: 2/7/2013 8:54:38 PM|Thanks to all who responded! I'll start with this week and then go back to finish January when I get the chance to catch up.
Glad I'm not alone and to those besides me who needs to catch up, let's not get discouraged and we can do this!
