In LA? Goodluck
If you have a car and can travel, I would head up to Santa Clarita to Remember When When I lived in LA I found that they had a great selection and the place is huge. If you're near the 405 it's doable, but if you're further inland it might be a pain.
I moved away, but there used to be a small shop in Culver City, at the Howard Hughs center. I moved away 2 years ago so they might have closed. Their selection was tiny so I'm not sure how worthwhile it would be.
If your further inland, there's a decent shop in Ontario, CA. I only visited twice on my way through the area but it had a nice selection.

Hi!
I would recommend Scraparazzi in Whittier. They have a really good selection and a friendly staff.
If you're looking for something specific, you may want to call ahead to make sure they have it in stock.
Cheers! | |

If you're staying near LAX in the South Bay area there's a store in Torrance called "Scrampers" and it's still open. They're the best in the area. If you want to step into 1999, there is a store called A to Z Scrapbooking on Anza. I walked in there a few weeks back, and was shocked by the time warp!
Scrampers has a pretty nice staff, some decent stuff, but it's 'just' a LSS.
There used to be a great store in Irvine, but it closed. We don't have much for great stores.
Even that store "Urbanic" in Venice was a waste of gas. It was a great little store, it was cute. But meh, I didn't buy anything. And they are definitely more stationary oriented then other blogs would lead you to believe.
