I picked up another 5-marker set the other day (why don't they package them so you can read the names of the colors in the store?) and I'm trying to figure out where to store a few of the colors.

I keep all my markers in color bins with paints, embellies, glitter, etc. So what color do you consider these to be--
Tattered Rose- kinda peach/flesh colored- should I put it in the pink or the orange bin? or the brown, if I use it for skin (which I don't plan to do)
Weathered Wood- blue/grey-- does it go in the blue bin or the black/gray/white bin?
Frayed Burlap- kinda taupe colored, so the brown or the black/white/gray bin?

I made a couple little cards for my rolodex with the names and colors, so hopefully I'll remember to check the cards when I need a marker. I'm just afraid I'll forget about some of those in between colors.

When I can't decide which bin to put an item in I will just chose one. I can always change my mind later after I have tried a few times to go get said item. If it has been in the first bin I've looked for it I know I made the right choice - if not I put it into the bin I've been looking in first.

Also, there are just some things that don't seem to work quite as well with color bins as others. I've pulled out my brads, journaling cards, pens, inks and paints from my color bins because I found I fiddled around too much when looking for them. They now have a comfy home in the drawers in my desk and I can get to them in a snap.

I'm sorry I can't help you more, I don't own any of the distress markers (though they are on my want list), so I've never split them up to put in my color bins.

Thanks- I'll have to check the colors under my Ott Light again to see what my first impressions are.

I agree with the above poster , that is how I have my distress inks divided.
